The problem with anger

You know the problem with anger? After it is gone it takes all your energy with it. The curse of being an angry man I guess.

Heroes

I know I went off the other day on the Senate and the Republicans the other day. As I write this I am watching last night's Daily Show. If you can go out and watch it. Jon sits down with four men who are dying...DYING...due to 9/11. They talked about a guy who died of face cancer. FACE CANCER! I've never even heard of face cancer. The guy had his nose fall of. His nose fell off and he recently passed on and these jerks can't work through the week before Christmas because its disrespectful to the families.

I haven't heard Glenn Beck talk about this. I haven't heard Bill O'Reilly rage on this. It's just Jon Stewart in the media making the noise. Where is Keith Olberman or Rachael Maddow? I honestly wish I was a real broadcast journalist because I would not be quiet about this. If I had any real outlet I would gladly get fired for this. If anyone deserved to be treated with respect and given something its these people. These heroes.

No yelling this time. No screaming this time. No swearing. This has gone from that yelling type outrage to the boiling white hot anger that I rarely have...if I've ever had. Each and ever member of the Senate should be impeached. Each and every one of them.

I am seriously going to send a letter to each and every member of the Senate and tell them how I fell. I encourage my singles and singles of readers to do the same. While I know it won't have any affect, it is all I can think to do. If I could I would give my insurance to any one of those heroes. If I could I give them the blood in my veins. I would give just about anything I have to these heroes because the people did what very few people would do.

I don't believe in God or miracles but during this holiday season I hope there is one and those in charge pull their heads out and realize what is important. If you do believe God say a pray for those who are seriously suffering for their heroism.

Its rare that I get this serious but I hope all of you who read this understand that this isn't a usual blog for me. This is something I have never felt more serious about. It disgusts me beyond believe that we are doing this and...well for the first time in my life...in all seriousness....I am ashamed of my country. The greatest country in the world and we should all be ashamed.

Cross Rhodes book review

Tuesday pro wrestler Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes released his auto biography 'Cross Rhodes'.

Anyone who watched the WWF during the mid 90's into what is called the Attitude era of Stone Cold and The Rock know Dustin's alter ego Goldust. Goldust has had several versions of his character. He started off as the very effeminate movie quoting character. Then came the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust who would dress up in weird outfits including bondage outfits with the late Luna Vachon. Then you had his stuttering gimmick after being electrocuted. No matter which version you know a 6'4" blonde painted gold like an Oscar is hard not to notice.

The book takes you on a very quick tour of his career but it is more about his life outside the squared circle. In it he talks about his on again off again relationship with his famous father pro wrestler Dusty Rhodes. He talks about his ex-wife Terri.

That isn't what was most interesting in my opinion. It was his open honest talk about his demons, alcohol and pain pills. He talks about hiding the pills and the booze. He talks about spiking his mountain dew with vodka. He talks about how his life went down hill.

Overall it isn't as good Mick Foley's books or Bret's (which would have been extremely hard since those are the measuring sticks) but it is a quick read. I personally would have liked to have more backstage stories about the wrestling itself but I don't think that is what Dustin was going for. This was about getting the story out. He doesn't use the line but it I got the idea that it wasn't about getting knocked down it was that Dustin kept getting up each time.

It took me around 2 hours to read this book. There were several quotes in the book that I wish I had wrote down. Dustin made you feel his pain without smacking you across the face with it.

I was a fan of Dustin/Goldust as the wrestler going back to his first's back in 1990 with the WWF. I actually remember Ted DiBiase beating him up and outlasting Ted's 10 minute challenge. Then his run as the Natural. One of my favorite matches is still Dustin taking on Vader on a Clash of the Champions. Now however I'm a fan of Dustin Runnels, the man behind the paint.

I hope Dustin is happy and I hope his latest set back, a shoulder injury that resulted in surgery, is just that a set back. Goldust is still one of the best in the ring and I would love to see one last run for the Golden One. One way or another as he said all those years ago...."You'll never....ever....for get the name of..." *long inhale* "Of Goldust."

Oh and as always go here to buy it from BN.com or here to buy it from amazon. The website will also give a little back to the best wrestling web site on the net pwinsider.com

A brief zombie story

After my ranting the other day I thought I would do something else today. A brief funny (or so I'm told) story. Saturday night I slept like crap. The power went out and I can't sleep in silence. When it was morning I wasn't in the mood to go into work but it was that time. I walked out and there she was. Standing across the parking lot behind the other building. She was just standing there looking at the ground. Not moving an inch. Just standing there. My first thought was....it has started. I stood there watching her for a few seconds and I was waiting for her to look up and moan. But here is what the folks at work thought was funny. My next thought, while waiting for the moan, was that she was just one, I can take one. When the moan didn't come I started walking and I saw she was just watching her rat dog take a shit. I thought to myself...I need to let up on the zombie stuff. Of course by the time I got to work I was deciding which zombie book I would be reading next. That night I heard someone/thing dragging something down the steps. I got up and made sure my door was locked and looked around for a weapon. I saw the steel chairs against the wall and I thought, that will take out one. I might be losing it but damn it I'll be prepared when the war goes down. Also...I'm not sure if that lady wasn't a zombie. She didn't move the entire time and that was fricking weird!

Friends don't let friends blog pissed the fuck off

You know something, I am fucking pissed off today so watch out. Don't read this if you don't want to read a bunch of swearing.

First off let me say a big FUCK YOU to the Republicans. You mother fuckers won't vote on health care in for the responders of 9/11 because you MIGHT NOT get your fucking tax cut. FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING DICKCHUGGERS! These men and women are dying because they were willing to go and try and save strangers. These men and women did something I didn't and probably wouldn't do to be completely honest. These men and women, legal and illegal, FUCKING DIED trying to do what was right and now you fucking mother fuckers won't even give them health care. FUCK YOU! Each and everyone of you should be ashamed. You know what is wrong with this fucking country assholes like you. People who are only worried about yourselves. You're too worried that you will have to pay more money in taxes...WHICH IS JUST FUCKING PAYING YOURSELVES YOU FUCKING RETARDS. I swear to god if I could I would personally like to fucking tell each and everyone one of you to fuck off, in person, and then slap each and everyone one of you shit fucks. I can't believe I can even get upset about this. This isn't about immigration. This isn't about net-neutrality. This is about true real life heroes. FUCK YOU!

You know who is next? Democrats. FUCK YOU! Fuck you for allowing this. Call these assholes out. Go out in EVERY fucking possible place and say what these fuckers are going. Go to the 'FAIR AND BALANCE' Fox News. If they don't let you on then tell the world that. They say you are wrong prove them wrong. How can anyone tell you that this bill is a bad thing. Also...if any fucker put some other rider into the bill they should be kicked out and honestly tried for treason against this country. FUCK YOU!

Next is the supposed war on Xmas...oh Christmas. That is total fucking bullshit. Now I don't give a shit about Christmas to be honest. I have no kids so its really just another day for me. But really this is just more Fox News bullshit. They aren't going to allow green and red in the classroom. They changed the name from Christmas parade to holiday parade. Well if you shitfucks didn't know there are other holidays in December. I know that is hard to believe but there is you dickbags. Only fucks like Fox News believe this. I see Christmas EVERYWHERE I look so where is this war? The only war fought worse than this is the war on drugs.

I feel better now. Enjoy!

The Walking Dead Finale

I just watched the Walking Dead Finale and it was AWESOME! I can not express how amazing the show has been. In six episodes it has done what most shows can't do in six seasons, make you care. Spoilers below.....

When Andrea decides to stay behind when the CDC building is going up my heart broke even though I know I would have done the same thing. When you see the defeat in her eyes and hear it in her voice its awesome.

When I'm at work and I recommend World War Z this is what I'm talking about. The human nature. This show isn't about the zombies, its about human survival. The drive to survive that human's have that other creatures don't. Well some humans. I don't know if all of them do.

Its an awesome show and an awesome thought. It makes you think about life. What I like is that the show makes you think but doesn't slap you in the face with it. You don't know your thinking about things till bam you are. AWESOME!

If you haven't seen them find them. Hulu them, call friends with DVR's, steal them, do something to find this show. Its worth it. I can't believe I have to wait till NEXT Halloween for the next 13 shows!

Wait....didn't Cartman figure out a way to freeze his fat ass? Yes I think he did....hmmm...it just might work....no I think the then ended up in some horrible 70's TV show. Damn it! I guess I'll suffer. Atleast I have Dexter...for another week....and then Doctor Who...for an episode.

People Choice Awards

How is it that Doctor Who, Eureka, Haven and The Walking Dead (Maybe too late in the year for the last one) are NOT on favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy show but Vampire Dairies and True Blood are. Really? Not even Stargate. Really? I guess I'll vote for Scifi is dead if Dairies and TB are what the fans think of when they think Sci-Fi. FUCK YOU PEOPLES CHOICE! Oh and Always Sunny not nominated for comedies but Glee and 2 and 1/2 Men are makes me fucking sick to!

Honestly I skipped most things because I would rather be shot then vote for the asshats they had listed. Matt Smith not listed for favorite Doctor...BULLSHIT...oh and Smith sucks as the Doctor! In all seriousness most thing sucked. If these list represent what people like anymore I don't want to be considered a person. I really don't.

The one tough list was the new TV Drama list as several shows on that list are really good. Detroit 187, Law and Order LA and Hawaii Five-0 are all really good shows this year.

Overall if that is the entertainment of the year its no wonder I have only seen two movies since February and that was only because I was in SLC not because I was like I have to see that movie....well maybe Predators....but probably not...although it was a really fun movie.

So to the PCA...FUCK YOU for leaving Doctor Who off everything. FUCK YOU for leaving Eureka and Haven off. Most important though...FUCK YOU for leaving Psych off your lists. Dexter only gets on your obsession list....Fuck You.

Overall I hope shit like Lady Gaga, True Blood, Glee and Robert Pattinson (fuck two of those no talented dick chuggers from Twilight are listed as favorite male movie actor. Really?) win all the awards to prove to me that the general public has not taste at all. PROVE IT TO ME BITCHES PROVE IT TO ME!

Random Things

Okay here is another blog full of me just throwing out a bunch of random ideas out there.

First off I received an email today full of things that will be happening soon. Let me respond to a few of these.

1. The post office going out of business. I don't see this. The government has stepped in and saved several business that would damage the economy and the death of the PO would do that. I like an idea I heard somewhere of stepping back to 5 days a week, eliminating Saturday's. I don't see them letting it die.

2. The Newspaper, as we know it, will POSSIBLY die. You have to remember there are still people who don't use the internet. The older folks still read the paper. I get asked atleast once a week if we sell papers. They still sell them at McDonald's. Could we see papers go from a daily to a bi-weekly or every other day type thing yes. Will we see papers with a bigger presence on the net? Yes. The death of papers...not yet...but it is on life support.

3. Books. I hear this EVERYDAY at work and it drives me insane. I've seen fellow booksellers say it online. Books ARE NOT going anywhere. Books are not like CD's or the VCR. I want to hit people when they say asinine things like this. Are there other options out there for readers like NOOK or Kindle? Of course. That is a GOOD thing. Since I've got my NOOK I actually read MORE than before. I honestly think people aren't looking a the big picture. We need our youngest generation to read. In a world with video games and entertainment on demand you have to do something to get the younglings to read. Now books are more interactive and will help keep the 10 second attention span. Books will continue. Will you perhaps have to do a little more ordering instead of just walking into a store and buying one....maybe...in ten years...but right now you don't have to worry about so stop being fucking dumbasses.

4. Land Lines phones aren't going anywhere as businesses will still want them. I don't see places like Wal-Mart or Target going to a bank of cell phones that people will walk out with anytime soon. Again use your head dumbshits.

5. This one is even more asinine then the books! Music will go away. Really? Something that has been around since the beginning of man will go away. Damn people are fucking stupid. Now if they meant the music industry haven't we been hearing this shit for years. Since Napster (which will allow me to give yet another big fuck you to Metallica for suing me despite getting your one fucking good song from a friend which you said was okay you fucking dickshit assholes) I've heard that music was dying. Blah blah blah blah blah. Artist still put out music and always will.

6. The last one on the list that bugged me was Television. Again this email made it sound like television was dying. No the way we the public get our television and entertainment in general has changed. Less people are watching on their actually TV when the show is shown live. Less people are tuning into entertainment TV when it shown. Less people are watching Chuck on Monday nights. They are now waiting for HULU or streaming Netflixs or using torrents or waiting for the DVD. They are still watching the shows just not in 'real time'. Why was Futurama and Family Guy brought back from the dead? Because people bought the shit ton of DVD's because people liked the show. Why did Firefly get a movie? Because the DVD's sold even if NO ONE watched the TV show when it was on.

Overall this shit pisses me off because they are dumbass statements....well the Post Office and newspaper one was more a stupid statement. I am in no way bashing my friend who sent this, I love Big John, but it drove me batshit. There was more to the email that I can't even go into as I could have a heart attack.

Okay enough of that lets look at other things.

The Walking Dead continues to be one of the best shows around. While nothing this week touched the end of last week it was still good and makes me wish I had AMC to see Sunday night instead of Monday afternoon but I can't wait. My mind has gone in several different directions as to why the CDC dude wanted them to leave instead of letting them in.

This season of Dexter might be the best season yet. Julia Stiles as an addition has been great addition and who would have thought the star of Hackers Jonny Lee Miller was as good as he is. I think he is an extremely underrated actor.

Over the next couple of weeks you are going to see more movie reviews as I have a ton of movies to watch that I don't think a lot of people have watched. I did it for Mindhunters a few weeks back and soon I'll do one for Big Fan starring Patton Oswald who is also extremely underrated.

With that being said I could also be gone for the next couple of weeks. I have some major things (my Road to Damascus if you have followed my blog/facebook) happening in the near future. Things are going to be very interesting but if you believe in symbolism in dreams I am ready for it.

Lastly lets talk about Christmas Music...and my hatred for it. Yesterday they started it at work. Not even December and there is fucking Christmas music playing in the store. Without control over the music (we only have shitty musak or however you spell it) and the ability to play the Muppets once a day I might snap and kill people.

I think I'll end with that. I am off to watch me some Torchwood in the absence of new Doctor Who...which returns on Christmas Day....YAY!

Book Review for Plague Zone

Another 'zombie' book goes down. This time it is Plague Zone by David Wellington. Much like a lot of zombie features out there, books, movies, games, what have you, these aren't the walking dead. These are infected people with a virus that eats away at the brain until there is no humanity left, just enough to make the people violent. While they do bite the uninfected they also will bite, claw and do whatever else they can to attack. It isn't the best book I've read and I had a hard time not giving it 2 out of 5 but it was average. Nothing ground breaking and very basic. It centers around a man trying to get back to Seattle after the outbreak. I won't say more then that as it will ruin things. Lets just say he runs into more than just the droolers on his way. If you want a fast read, I think I read it in two days....maybe three this isn't a bad choice. He has other books out there that I might look into.

A blog from drunk Gene (you haven't seen him yet)

Note: I am quite drunk typing this so forgive me if it is incoherent or slightly mushy.

So far I've this week I've figured out my Road to Damascus moment and found that it wasn't as upsetting as I thought it would be and actually more clear then I had anticipated. Went to the greatest place on Earth, The Brazilian Grill. Watched almost all of this seasons Always Sunny in Philly.

Today I slept till past 11. Had Del Taco. Watched a 9 month old freak out and crawl to the computer pointing and making noise when I found the Cyberman Picture I posted on my Facebook and at the beginning of this blog....DELETE DELETE DELETE (future nerd if there ever was one). Had Thanksgiving Dinner. Played some D&D. Drank quite a few Rum and Cokes. Had a certain Beagle behave himself for the most part. Had a frank conversation with a friend that I wasn't that close with but now I feel closer to her (wake up sunshine its your turn).

Overall it has been a great trip to SLC. A place where I feel at home because my friends (damn I miss you fuckers at BN I don't get to see anymore) are here and really those friends are my family.

I am more relaxed and at peace with life then I've been in a long time. The road I am about to go down will be rough and I could very well be making the wrong choice but that is life right? Fuck it. Right now (and that is because I am probably more drunk then I think) everything is where it should be. I have a puppy at my feet, I have great music on the computer, laundry is getting done, turkey in my belly, the best friends a guy like I could ask for...better then I could ask for actually. Ask me in a week how I feel and you'll get the usually Gene answer but right now I am smiling and wishing I had one more rum and coke and that the day was just starting.

To my friends I didn't get to see today/this trip I am sorry. Sometimes we just run out of time. To those of you in Michigan/New York/Chicago/Mass I miss many of you more then words can say.

Thanksgiving is about realizing what you're thankful for and I am thankful that I ain't Ricky Rude...wait that's not right that is what Roddy Piper was thankful for in 1989 (only one maybe two people will get that reference)...I'm thankful for my friends who have been and always will be my family.

So tomorrow know that it pains me more then you'll ever know to go back to Twin Falls. Know that what I really want to do is stay where I am respected and maybe even wanted...and not by the law either!

Tomorrow hug those that you love. But more importantly tell those people you love that you love them. Be thankful that you have what you have. But most of all be thankful that you don't get blogs from Drunk Gene very often and soon you'll be back to either get Gene 2.0 (normal blogging Gene) or Angry Gene ;)

Walking Dead Episode 4 (spoilers included)

I know I said my next blog was going to be /rantmode on but the last five minutes of my life changed that....good grief was that the best 5 minutes of TV ever? I talked a little bit about the Walking Dead in the past here I believe but the last 5 minutes of Sunday's episode was amazing! Intense, filmed perfectly, emotional and awesome. I seriously didn't see it coming.

SPOILERS ahead so don't read ahead if you don't want to know because I want to say what was going through my mind as things happened.

When the first walker went up to the tent I thought it was going to be Merle. When he opened the tent flap and it was the walker I was like...shit! Then the one walks around the corner and grabs the girl after she pissed (note to self, in the zombie apocalypse either piss right at the fire or go in pairs) and I was like double shit. At that point I thought the whole camp was going to get taken out. The scene of the dude who was digging earlier walking after they killed the group was great. Glenn freaking out because he's Glenn. The chaos strangely reminded me of the scene in Platton, the last war scene, when the VC are attacking at night and they are everywhere. It had a great war feeling to it. Because of Faceoff I always think of weird music to scenes. For the record the Somewhere over the Rainbow song playing while they have that massive gun battle in Faceoff was brilliant. I actually thought of the Hymn Abide with Me while this was happening.

In the Doctor Who episode "Gridlock" they have an awesome version of Abide with Me and since I heard it, and listened to it over and over and over again because it is hauntingly beautiful, I could see that playing over this scene. With the young sister dying and the older sister just crying and holding her. The chaos against the beauty of the hymn in my mind would be perfect but I am sure in execution it wouldn't have worked but if/when I make a movie it will happen.

Actually I see it a little different. I would use it in a scene where most of the main cast dies delivering or saving whatever they are after. Like a war movie where everyone is dying but fighting anywhere which is why it popped in my head here. Everyone was fighting yet dying and it is kind of a send off for those who are dying.

Anyway back to the final scene. It had everything a final scene should have in a TV show. I don't know who the writers/director/film crew was/is on this show but they may be some of the best damn people working in TV right now. Easily the best thing on TV now and that is including great shows like Chuck and Dexter.

NOOK Color

Everyone who reads this blog, well most people at least, know that I work for a small bookstore chain called Barnes and Noble. Last week NOOK Color came out and I picked mine up and let me say I love the thing! I really do. As someone who has a lot of PDF's for my D&Ding and who also enjoys reading it is great. It has a pretty good web brower as well. This is in now way me telling everyone to go buy one because if you were going to you probably already knew about but I just wanted you, my faithful readers, to know that I really do enjoy mine. If you are thinking about an ereader go to your local BN and check it out.

I also like that there are over 1.5 million free items as well. Now here is the weird thing. I turned it on this morning and went to the shop area and it had a couple of erotica books. At first I was like...wow it really does know me and my love for porn...then I realized it SHOULDN'T know that...and neither should you people forget I said it. However I started looking at the free stuff and I realized that there is a BUNCH of free erotica on this things. I mean a bunch! I found it very strange.

Okay there is a quick statement on my love of NOOK Color. If you haven't checked out my podcast you should if for no other reason than to boost my fragile ego. Also later today or tomorrow I am going to turn on /rantmode and go off on people and things like the TSA (which side will I be on? Stay tuned), rude customers, talking about how awesome the Miz is and more. Until later....Abyssina!

I have RETURNED!

I have returned everyone. After a few weeks of being sick as hell I am finally better. I was also rather uninspired to be honest. I think I am getting old as the ranting from my last few entries just took it out of me but I'm back so lets get into it.

First off a little bit of zombie related news. If you haven't been watching the Walking Dead on AMC you should start. IT IS AWESOME! Its starts a little slow and to be honest I didn't like the initial 30 minutes or so. After that however...OH HELL YA as Stone Cold likes to say. The acting has been great and the story is good. I never read the comic as I think it was before I became obsessed with zombies like I have recently. Overall worth watching. I'll be honest it has got my heart going a few times recently.

Recently I've started reading my very first Doctor Who book. I skipped Doctor number Nine and went straight to the first Number 10 book. I'm not sure what to think so far other then more Doctor Who is always a good thing.

In geek news that continues with the above Doctor Who news there is a new Wiimote shaped like the Doctor's sonic screwdriver. That is a cool thing!

A few weeks ago Fallout: New Vegas came out. It is pretty damn cool. I love killing things. It really is amazingly fun to kill things. They added a bunch of things which I don't do but it's a blast killing everything and anything.

Did anything else happen? Oh yeah there was an election wasn't there? The republicans are back in power in the house. What does that mean? Nothing really. Well actually it means less will get done then usual.

I heard a brief interview with former President G.W. Bush. It actually made me almost want read his book. I might flip through it.

Let me update you all on my favorite person in the world Jennifer Petkov. I know this sounds really hokey but just seeing her smile knowing that she is dying actually makes me cry nearly every time I see it. Jennifer has lost two of her children to her ex husband. Her current husband has lost his job and Jennifer has received death threats. Its amazing now Jennifer is saying I'm sorry. I personally don't give a shit. She is a piece a human waste and my tool list will remain the Jennifer and Scott Petkov list until someone more evil arrives. Honestly unless Hitler comes back it'll be a while.

Ok that is enough for tonight. I will be doing a new podcast later this week. It feels good to be back.

Quick Note

I just wanted to let you, my loyal readers (all 7 of you), that I haven't disappeared. I have some weird bug that has me sick as hell. I will return soon so don't worry too much. Hopefully by the end of the weekend but who knows.

The Jennifer and Scott Petkov List (Formerly the Tool List)

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Tears of a clown? (A blog written by a Fat Man in tears)

As I type this I am in tears. Why? Because of a young girl in Michigan. If you've gone to my podcast you know I was angry yesterday after finding out about a young girl with Huntington Disease was mocked and bullied by her neighbors. This 7 year wasn't bullied by kids but by their parents. People my age. I joined a facebook page supporting her and looking at the pictures and she always looks so happy and for this assholes to mock this girl makes me sick. I am not a violent person but I swear to god if anyone ever deserved to get a old school ass kicking its Scott and Jennifer Petkov. I won't go crazy here as I did it on my podcast already. But if there is a God, and shit like this continues to make me believe there isn't, then Scott and Jennifer have a world of hurt coming to them. I don't wish ill on people normally but if I find out that someone hurt these two people I won't shed a tear and honestly I would buy the people who did it a beer...hell probably two.

This young girl was handed a life sentence and these people mock her because their kids didn't get invited to her birthday party...well there is probably a reason.

This story just put one more nail in my coffin as far as my belief that there is good out there.

In closing let me say that the Fat Man's Tool list will forever be renamed as the Jennifer and Scott Petkov list. Fuck both of you.

Oh and for the record I do hope none of this blows back on the Petkov's kids and I hope they learn from this and they do something good with their lives. Scott and Jenny...FUCK YOU TWO!

Brief Blog on McD's

I am going to do a quick entry as I have a lot on my mind but I want to do this while it is still 'hot' as it were. Go HERE to see a video by an artist. This 'artist' took a happy meal and left it on her table for six months and it didn't mold or decay or create worms or anything like that. I won't say anything about it but let's just say I agree with the comments to the article.

Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry review

Rot and Ruin is the newest book by Jonathan Maberry, author of Patient Zero and Dragon Factory. This is a completely different book from Patient Zero and the Joe Ledger books.

First off let me say that this book is considered young adult. I had no clue and it doesn't really matter but after the fact it makes since. Unlike so many zombie books out there this is as much a coming of age book as much as about the zombies.

As I started reading the book it all seemed REALLY familiar. Then I realized why. This is based on or is a continuation of a short story in The New Dead Anthology that I reviewed earlier.

The book follows the maturation of Benny Imura after what is referred to as "First Night" or the night that the dead rose. Benny lives with his older brother Tom whose is a bounty hunter out in the Ruin, which is anything beyond the gates of their home, Mountaintown.
Without giving away much else we are introduced to several other bounty hunters including Charlie and The Motor City Hammer. Throw in Gameland, Nix and zombies and you have quite a story.

Maberry has the ability to make you see what he is writing. As I said with Patient Zero the scenes he wrote I literally saw in my head. Maberry is so extremely vivid with his writing.

Some of the places I have found list this as Benny Imura #1 and if that is true I'm cool with that. These characters have legs. I want to know more about Benny and Nix and the Ruin. Also I wouldn't argue with knowing more about the experiences from First Night that we learn throughout the book. Perhaps even just a book about First Night, even if it is a series of short stories, would be interesting.

As a fan of any book with zombies I enjoyed this for a different reason. This coming of age story felt real in a world that couldn't (well hopefully couldn't) be real. I started off reading a book about zombies and finished a book about a young man becoming a man. Not the kind of story I went looking for but a story I enjoyed. Movie review of Mindhunters

There was a movie several years ago I wanted to see called Mindhunters. It starred LL Cool J, Christian Slater, Val Kilmer and several others. The premise of the movie is that a group of want to be FBI profilers are taken to an island for their final test before being accepted or rejected as a profiler. Kilmer plays the instructor while the rest of the cast is trying to get into the FBI. Once they get to this island, which they are the only people on, they realize that there is a killer on the island with them. The killer doesn't just kill the profilers however. He uses traps throughout the island to kill people.

I remember seeing a preview for this movie years ago and thinking that looks interesting. Then nothing. I don't know if this movie EVER made it to theatres to be honest. I would have seen it had I known it was released. Over all it is a movie I like because while they do a good job of misdirection you also aren't sure. I'll be honest the person I thought it was it wasn't.

It had an Usual Suspects vibe to it as you knew it was one of the people but you didn't know who. The answer wasn't right in your face like Suspects ended up being in a way. While I don't believe anyone figured the Usual Suspects out even though some claim to this one you can figure out.

Not a bad movie, it seems really long, and that isn't a bad thing even though I did think it was going on for quite a while, it was good. It's a movie most people haven't heard of I don't think but is worth checking out.

Podcast as a blog

Below is basically what my first podcast said. It is NOT a transcript as I wrote the blog first and then recorded (and re-re-re-re-re-re-recorded) the podcast. I think I'll continue doing them once a week or so as I think it could be interesting if I do it on the right topic at the right time...or if the old angry Fat Man visits for a day!

This is an update to the firefighter story from a few days ago. I found this story on theblaze.com I believe. As I've said before I try to listen to Glenn Beck and any talk radio show when possible. I have to say I am SHOCKED that Glenn Beck says that this policy is like Obamacare.

I agree with Glenn on some things and other I think he is flipping nuts on. On this I think it is nuts. First off his co-host or whatever this guy Pat is mocked this gentleman. That in itself is wrong and personally I believe is EXTREMELY wrong. If you disagree with his that is fine but you don't mock a person who just lost EVERYTHING in his life.

He makes this sound like it is social justice. That is NOT the case as I see. Yes there is emotion involved here. I am now an emotional guy after years of not being but I do still use logic when I make any decision. I am sorry but logic says you save the house. Glenn makes this sound like it is fire insurance. Fire Insurance is for AFTER you have a fire, it is there in case you LOSE everything in a fire. My car insurance isn't there to STOP a car accident it is there for AFTER an accident. My health insurance doesn't STOP me from getting sick it is there to help AFTER I get sick.

As I said the other day I find this sick. Now on Beck's show they point out that before the 75 dollar fee there was NO fire coverage in that area. HUH? No fire coverage in an rural area? That makes no since. Does that mean those people don't pay taxes?

I lived in the middle of nowhere Michigan for 8 or so years. I saw a fire happen a few houses away from my grandparents place and you know what, they came out. Now maybe they had to pay a fee I don't know and I'll have to ask next time I talk to them. However isn't that part of taxes?

I've never been a homeowner and I could be completely wrong but you pay taxes when your a homeowner I believe. I always thought those taxes went to pay for things like the police and the fire services.

Let me say that I understand what Glenn and his asshole co-host were saying. He didn't pay the fee so he doesn't get the service. If I don't pay for the power it gets shut off. If I don't pay for my phone it gets shut off. I really do understand their point. They point out that if the fire department HAD put out the fire the next year why would ANYONE pay the fee. I understand that. I see their point and they are using logic there so I thought about that.

They have excellent points. All their points are correct and I can't argue with that and if we were strictly logical beings they are right, but we aren't Vulcan's.

Okay here is something else as I will veer off topic for a second. Glenn on his show is now talking being a beacon. Being a shining light. How do you go from you didn't pay 75 dollars so you lose everything to telling his listeners to be shining lights for others. Were those firefighters being beacons of light? Does he honestly believe that God wanted that man's house to burn down and for that man to suffer? If he meant what he was saying about being a shining light had ONE firefighter fought that fire HE would have been a beacon. For the record I don't blame the firefighters as they would have lost their jobs but what a beacon that one man would have been.

Now I don't know what I would have done in that case. I want to say that I would have told the fire chief to suck my dick and would have tried to put that fire out but I don't know. Would I risk my job for what is right? Again I want to say I would but I really don't know. I am not a good person. I don't think I've ever said that I was because I'm not. I know right from wrong when I see however. What was done to those people in Tennessee was wrong and there is no way around it.

The last point I want to make is this. They just had a caller in on the show that basically said what I said about taxes and Glenn had a good point that I don't know if this county was set up this way. I don't know how it is either. I wonder if the police department is the same way. I mean the argument is that he didn't pay because his taxes didn't go the city. Does that mean the police don't go out there either?

There are a lot of things unclear about this the more I write about it but no matter what for firefighters to watch as a person's home and all their belongs burn is wrong from a human stand point. As much as I hate say this maybe I am actually human...I think I threw up a little in my mouth saying that.

As I write this I am contemplating making this my first podcast. Maybe I'll record it, listen to it, and see what I think. I already have several other blogs in mind. One on the bullying issue that is going on in America causing young people to commit suicide. With all these heavy topics I also want to do something lighter so I want to do a blog on the new TV Season.

My First podcast

At the end of last week I recorded my first podcast. Let me know what you think. Should I keep doing it?

The world has gone INSANE!

I mean what the title says, the world has gone INSANE! Let me give you all some examples.

In Tennessee firefighters allowed a home to burn down. Not only allowed it but WATCHED as this happened. Why? Did the home owners rape a dog and beat the children of the firefighters? Did he spit on the majors wife and call her a whore? Nope, he didn't pay a 75 dollar fee to get fire protection because he didn't live in the city limits. That's right, they didn't pay the fee so they lost EVERYTHING. You have to pay a fee to get fire protection in this country now?

This isn't the America I know (damn I am starting to sound like Glenn Beck sometimes). How does a firefighter NOT stop a fire? Do we now have to pay the police to protect us? This is bullshit and personally makes me sick to my damn stomach. But that wasn't the only thing that made me realize that the world has gone fucking (first f-bomb of the blog! WHOO!) insane.

Follow this link to a video of a woman, Virginia Ironside...some big columnist in England, saying that she would smother her own child if she was handicapped. The other guest on whatever show this is looks as shocked as I did when I heard this. For the love of God and all things good and evil how can ANYONE say that? I joke about a lot of things in life, hell some...no most of them inappropriate. I will continue to do so but never ever would I say, in a serious tone, that handicapped children should be smothered. I don't give a shit HOW much a baby is suffering you don't fucking smother it.

Lastly, like I need more to show the insanity that is infecting people, is this video here. First off the video was found on theblaze.com, a news site founded by Glenn Beck. Put that aside and look at the video. This video is about some 10-10 website that wants use to lower our carbon footprint. On the surface an okay cause if you believe in that whole global warming thing, which of course I do although I'm not entirely convinced it isn't a natural thing, although doing things like being 'green' can't hurt things. However in the video, in case it has been removed like it has been on Youtube, shows people getting blown up when they don't want to do anything to help with the carbon thing. That's right, as the ad says, no pressure. None at all, if you don't we'll blow you up.

Fuck me, seriously? This is how we are going to get people to do what we want now? No pressure right? I am starting to understand how people go insane when the look at what the world is doing out there. I have joked about building a bunker and leaving the real world behind, hell I even had a dream a few days ago about it, but seeing shit like this makes me actually want to do it. Honestly just go out in the middle of nowhere and never EVER deal with the real world again. Either that or get really REALLY drunk. f

quick book review for Dying to Live: Life Sentence

Another day and another zombie book. This book was good. It is told from two points of view, one from Zoey (who you'll remember from the first book) and the second being Truman. I can't say a whole lot without ruining part of the story. I enjoyed it and stayed up late to finish the book, the only two I've done that with in a long time was Under the Dome and Day By Day Armageddon. I would suggest picking it up as it was well done. Pick it up if you like zombie books.

Go to BN and pick up a copy or get the ebook for your nook

How do they do that?

I have one question for my few readers, how does a man like Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity get their own shows? How did they get started. I've decided after watching and listening to months and months of Glenn Beck and people like him that I can do that and I think given time I could do that.

Also I am starting to believe that all of them were wrestling fans growing up. Listen to them, especially Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. They are like Bobby Heenan (which I guess Letterman and Jon Stewart compared Glenn Beck to the Brain) or the late Capt. Lou.

But seriously Jon Stewart wants to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert wants to Keep Fear Alive. I want to keep Insanity Alive. If anyone can reach the same level of insanity (and I mean that in the best way possible) of Glenn Beck I can.

Put me in coach!

Randomness

Okay today I figure I would throw some random stuff out there, random news stories and what not.

First off I talked last week about Stephen Colbert going to capital hill and testifying, sort of in character. I say sort of in character because he was in character but I think at times his character is Steve Colbert. What he said needed to be said. Was it said in 'character'? Yes. However as I said before listen to why he is doing it and that is what is important. Hardly any person with a voice thought this was a good thing. Democrat nor republican saw the importance of this and all seemed to hate the idea. Personally I think Stephen did what he thought was right and for that he deserves to be applauded no jeered.

Speaking of jeering, did you hear about Boo-Gate? That's right...Boo-Gate. Fox News thought it was SO important to know if Sarah Palin was booed on Dancing with the Stars that they gave it a name, and a name off one of the biggest stories in American Political History. Quite frankly who gives a flying fuck if she was booed. She has been booed before and she will be again. That goes with the territory. She is a polarizing person. She is one of those people who is either liked or hated, very few people have no opinion of her. For the record, I don't give a shit about her in case you were wondering.

A New York City teacher recently wrote an essay admitting that she was once a prostitute. You can read the article here. I personally don't see an issue with this. That doesn't make her a bad person. I haven't read the essay but it doesn't matter to me why she did it. If she needed the money to eat or if she just liked to fuck and figured why not get paid for it. It is one of if not the oldest profession. As it was once said, let he who is without sin cast the first stone...or something like that.

Our military bases have been visited by aliens and they are after our nukes. As you can read here. I think this makes sense. Recently at work a co-worker of mine asked if I believed in aliens. I said yes because there has to be intelligent life out there somewhere and it sure in the hell isn't on this planet! In all seriousness the universe is vast and there has to be another planet with life on it. If these other beings were to visit our planet they are going to be looking at our defenses and our military. No for the record I don't know if we've been visited. I really am not sure. I have seen things a few times that I don't know what they were. I'm in no way saying that they were aliens.

The TV Show the Colony ended Tuesday and there were a few interesting things. First off the military dude Tick lead the colonist on a raid. Yes after all their bitching and moaning they went and raided another colony. Now I'm all for it especially if this was a true situation. If this was really a situation of life or death I'll do what I can to protect myself and those with me. After their bitching and moaning about being raided they then did the same thing. I liked it I really did. Also Sian, the one I really didn't like the whole time, jumped at the chance to leave the Colony when VOPA (a fake government agency) showed up. This group had left them here with nothing and then made a food drop 50 feet in the air and ruined most of the supplies. Now its a hard choice but I wouldn't have got in those SVU's. No way no how. I also liked that the Colony started to fall apart after VOPA showed up. The Old Man and the Model went at it verbally and Jim completely lost his mind for a while. It...was AWESOME! Then came the entire other colony. They blew up their old house as they were attacking. This year's show seemed more real then last years but as I said before, they need more 'normal' people. It reminds me of when you are playing D&D and you end up with a warrior, a cleric, a thief and a wizard. One of each class available. This year they did throw in the model but they still had the mechanic and contractors and what not. I want to be on the next season however.

Several of the best TV shows out there have returned. Chuck and Dexter are both back on the air. Both are excellent shows that people should check out if you aren't watching. Chuck has been ok so far. I miss Big Mike however and I hope to see him return in the future. Dexter, well it'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.

Okay back to the Colony for a second...BEST ENDING EVER! That's all I am going to say....BEST...ENDING...EVER!!!

So Congress takes a month off to campaign. Really? Can I get a month off before my review (election) to try and convince my boss to give me a raise (keep me in office)? You know what? If you did the right thing you have nothing to worry about. If you are a screw up (notice no f-bomb there) then your gone. A month to campaign is bullshit.

Okay enough random bullshit. I'm tired for some reason. anyway until next time remember:

Listen to the song and it's how I feel about most people. Poisoned birthday cake...I'm digging that the most!

Did anyone get the plates of that bus?

I am a good person. Hmmm, well an okay person. Despite what I say I always try to treat people the way I want to be treated. I have based my management style on this as well.

I don't like to be micromanaged so I don't do it despite everyone telling me that it is what I need to do. I don't like to be yelled and screamed at so I don't do it despite being told it is what is needed. I HATE when my managers are just looking for every little thing to get me with but that is what must be done sometimes.

I also hate when people throw people under the bus as it were. I hate when people do end runs around other people. If I have a problem with Paul, who is another manager, I don't go around and run to the boss. Even worse I don't run around both Paul and his supervisor, lets say Thea, and go to Thea's boss and someone even higher then that when they are visiting. I go to Paul and we talk. Maybe he didn't know he had done something he wasn't suppose to. MAYBE he did what upset me for a reason I don't understand. MAYBE, despite having not so great hair and a big goatee and always saying he doesn't give a shit, actually thought long and hard on something before doing it or not doing something. But of course I wouldn't know that because I didn't talk to Paul. I assume he is a fuck up and so is his boss so I'll just go above them.

Short and sweet, I do very few things in my life without thinking long and hard on it. I'm not saying I am right most of the time, fuck I am rarely right if ever, but I almost always think about it. I rarely sleep well because I think about things.

My mind often works kinda like a choice table. I try to figure out every possible outcome and then pick the best of it, or what I think the best outcome is.

For someone, a peer, to do this is sickening. What I don't understand is that it isn't like I've given anyone a reason to do this. People who haven't seen me for a long time or really talked to me for a long time, I've changed a lot in the last ten years. Ask the people who have been around me throughout that time. I have been through a lot and I've changed.

I finally actually loved someone and lost her due to my own stupidity. I've nearly committed suicide. I've been through more bouts of depression then I care to admit or know. I had the job I've wanted and lost said job. I left Michigan on a dream, found that dream, and found that sometimes dreams are nightmares you just don't know it until its too late. I've learned that despite being a bitter husk of a human acting that way is worthless. I've learned to actually feel emotions even though now I wish I didn't because life was easier without these fucking things.

What I'm saying is that I have grown more in the last ten years then I did in the twenty before that. I would not do an end run around someone. I wouldn't throw someone under the bus. If I make a mistake I'll tell you why said mistake was made but not blame someone else unless it is someone's fault other then mine, however at the end of the day as a manager it is all my fault.

The bottom line is that I was made to look incompetent in front of my superiors without atleast being able to defend the supposed incompetence. As I asked on twitter and facebook:

does anyone know how to get tired tracks off one's back after being thrown under said bus?

Again, where is the real America?

In Florida a woman was arrested and charged with child abuse for watching her daughter in a fight AND telling her to continue to swing. Really? Maybe I'm weird but I don't think this is a major problem.

I remember when my father offered my step brother a pair of boxing gloves and to pull the cars out of the garage to fight me. Now I didn't do it for two reasons, one because I would have hurt the boy and two even back then I was WAY to lazy to do that.

Arrested? Really? This was a school yard fight. Should the mother have been there? Of course not. Should she have been cheering her daughter? What if her daughter was boxing? Or doing a MMA fight?

If these were two boys fighting and their dads encouraging them I don't think this would be an issue. But what do I know, I don't understand the America that is out there anymore. Honestly if I had money my bunker is looking better and better.

Testify!

Earlier today Stephen Colbert testified on Capital Hill, talking about immigration. Colbert took up United Farm Workers President Arturo Rodriguez on his take our job challenge. The idea was that American's would work on day as a immigrant worker on a farm. Colbert testified about this experience.

Now over on Fox News they didn't like this. They quoted Rep. Steve King, a republican from Iowa:

"There was no rational reason for him to be there," Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told Fox News, adding that Colbert's joke-filled testimony didn't stick to the written testimony he had submitted Thursday night. Lawmakers expected him to summarize his points in five minutes, but he went longer -- and lacked substance, said King, a member of the panel.

They are right. You can click above on Fox News and you will see that he went 5 minutes and 21 seconds. Now there may have been more that I haven't seen. I watched on both Fox News and on the Washington Post website. The Post's site had a video of about 10 minutes with questions being asked of Colbert.

Let me talk a bit about the testimony. He did it tongue and cheek but at the end he was very honest. What I liked was when he was asked questions he was just Steve Colbert instead of Stephen Colbert.

I agree it was weird to invite him and he really did waste their time because they didn't listen to what he said AFTER the testimony. He said:

"I like talking about people who don't have any power and it seems to me that some of the least powerful people in the United States are migrant workers who come here and do our work but don't have any rights.

"And yet we still invite them to come here and at the same time ask them to leave... Migrant workers suffer and have no rights," he said.

I am a fan of Colbert. I think he is witty and very funny. I just wish people would listen to what he said not WHO said it. I believe he said 16 people did the Take our Job challenge and he was one of them. Did he do it out of the good of his own heart? No he did it as part of his show but he did it and that is more than everyone else did.

What really hurt was that a democrat, even worse one from the Mighty MI Michigan, asked Colbert to leave before he even started. Really? This from a group who had Elmo and Dr. Phil testify.

It just makes me sad how blind and short sighted the people who are running this country are. As Jon Stewart said recently asked...are we being run by assholes?

This is our country, makes you proud sometimes huh?

Katy Perry too hot and cold for Sesame street

So apparently one Katy Perry is to hot for the street...sesame street that is. Here is the video that has apparently been BANNED from SS. The picture here of Katy with Elmo is from the show and you can check out the video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHROHJlU_Ng

Um...I didn't really see anything wrong with that. I read somewhere, I didn't make notes when researching (yes when I write an actual blog like this I usually do research and try to have links or at least be able to tell you where I read stuff), that there was nudity involved. I watched that entire video, I really wanted to hit myself in the head with things once Elmo started singing, but I didn't see any nudity. Was see extremely covered, no. Could she have picked a better outfit...maybe...but I always assumed that the people on SS had some control. I don't think I could show up in my shorts and green lantern shirt and get on SS if they wanted the Fat Man on there.

I actually kinda understand her outfit, now I am not sure, but I think that was a slip or slip type outfit because she was going to be playing dress up. I believe, and believe it or not I don't know this for sure, but I believe the idea of the slip is to be worn under dresses and such.

Now you could argue that if it was a slip she shouldn't be wearing it outside anyway, which is why I said a slip type thing. That is what I first thought when I saw it.

As a guy of course I noticed she was showing some cleavage but honestly as a man I notice that no matter what. If she was wearing a sweater I would notice she is well endowed. She has large boobs! Of course people notice that, its not her fault. I don't blame her one bit.

If anyone is to blame it is SS for allowing it. Why did they? Because they didn't see a problem with it. This almost goes back to my rant on political correctness and SS fell into that trap. To keep the kiddies, and more importantly, their parents buying all that Elmo crap they had to take this away.

To be honestly I'm confused as to why this was on SS but I am sure the show has changed a lot since I was watching. I remember Grover, Kermit, Oscar the Grouch, Big Bird and his imaginary friend. I don't remember Elmo. I remember the show being sponsored by some letter. That cool pinball segment that was on every show and I think it always went to number 12, but it was kinda cool music. I don't remember random celebrities coming on the show but what do I know I was like 13 or 14 when I was watching....er...um...3 or 4...yeah...that's the ticket!

I don't know Katy Perry from Matthew Perry (well I do as I would rather look at Katy...seriously she is HOT and if I liked that kinda music it was horrible) and had it not been mentioned on the O'Reilly Factor I wouldn't have heard about it. By the way, check out his interview with Jon Stewart. Why Jon goes on that show boggles my mind but that is for another blog. Until next time....I think I am going to have to check out more Katy Perry

Is the American Dream Dead

Recently President Obama held a town hall meeting and was asked by a recent law school graduate "is the American Dream dead for me?" after mentioning he took advantage of the school loans Obama spoke about. He mentioned that he can't pay the interest on the loans let alone try to start a family.

Now I feel this mans pain, I can't make my loan payments. I don't blame President Obama for my problems, I took out the loans and now I'm looking at what I can do about it and it isn't much but that isn't the point of this. The point is people voted for President Obama because he preached change. Where is the change? I saw this on Jon Stewart and here is what he said "I don't know who is to blame here, you for making this shit look so good or us for believing it."

Jon said it perfectly. I blame us, the American people.

The art of the reveal and other movie stuff [updated 9-18]

Yes two posts in one day, aren't you people lucky. I've been on vacation watching bad movies. Well that isn't true, I think any movie you enjoy isn't bad but that's just me. I am currently watching Godzilla, the remake with Kevin Dunn and Mathew Matthew Broderick. The thing is that they show Godzilla less then a half hour in. Look at great horror/monster type movies that they DON'T do this with and the reveal is the big thing.

Cloverfield. I actually really like this movie and you don't see the monster right away. We just see glimpses and hardly even that. It is an awesome.

Jaws. Now the story is that this wasn't the plan but the shark didn't work so we don't get to see Jaws for quite a while but the suspense it built up was amazing.

Alien. I don't remember but I don't think we see the aliens for quite sometime.

Predator. We don't see the Predator for quite a while, just the 'invisible' highlight thing and the blasts.

Those are just a few. The point is it the reveal in a movie like this. If I was making a monster movie, lets say 90 minutes, it would be atleast 45 minutes before you see the monster, maybe 60 minutes. Maybe a glimpse of a tail or an eye or something like that. Build up the suspense. Build up the viewer wanting to see the monster. Needing to see it. Demanding to see it. Then you hit them with it.

I like to use movie analogies but of course that is sorta the point of this so lets use wrestling. When Hulk Hogan was going to fight Andre the Giant they didn't announce it and then do it the next week. They built it up. First they showed they were good friends. Then Andre attacked him on Piper Pit ripping off the crucifix. Then they did interviews and interviews and interviews. By the time Wrestlemania 3 rolled around they had over 90,000 people (according to WWF) in the Silverdome. Imagine that, 90,000 people and basically ALL because of those two men. Had the arena been bigger they would have had more I'm sure. It wouldn't have worked had Andre challenged the Hulkster and Hogan said yes and they wrestled.

Its all in the art of the reveal. Lets just say if I ever have a major announcement and gather my friends for it, you're going to have to sit through some major stuff first...maybe even make you watch the Room and Troll 2 to see if you actually care.

In other movie type news Total Recall is being remade, this time with the director of the last Die Hard movie at the helm. That sucks because the last Die Hard movie SUCKED and lets face it we don't need a Total Recall remake.

Sacha Baron Cohen will be playing Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic. That is awesome. When I think Freddie I also think Bruno. *SIGH*

Judge Dredd is getting a reboot, this time with Karl Urban of Star Trek and Lord of the Rings fame as Dredd. I liked the first one but I might be the only one. This one will be darker and more like the comic from what I've read.

Just a little bit of news here. I'm bored and well I love movies even if haven't seen one for months.

UPDATE: So after playing some Fallout 3 I decided to watch Con Air. Here is another problem with this movie and lot of movies. The pilot has the co-pilot get the gun out and go back to find out what is going on in the back. Really? As the pilot I sure in the hell wouldn't have done that. Its like wrestling, just because it isn't 'real' doesn't mean it has to be without logic. That is one of the reasons I liked the Scream movies, well the first one atleast, is that they used logic to a certain extent. I understand suspending believe, I've been watching wrestling for 20 years for the love of god. However lack of logic isn't the same as suspension of belief. When I write my movie I hope to not have those logic gaps.

I did have a horror movie script wrote. I thought it was okay...I wonder if I have still have that sitting around somewhere....

Household Name (ranting about wrestling so more of you will ignore it)

As you all know I'm a wrestling fan. I actually pay for the pwinsiderelite website, which is AWESOME if you're a wrestling fan, and I'm currently listening to an audio with the former wrestler Nova.

Now some of you are casual fans, mostly because you're friends of mine, and honestly a lot of actual fans probably don't know Nova or Simon Dean in WWE. He is talking about how WWE tells their wrestlers that they are major TV stars yet no one knows them using the failure of John Cena's latest movie. He then talks about how 'over' or popular the people from Jersey Shore are.

This is a STUPID analogy. The Jersey Shore people not only on their TV show but they are ALL over the place. They are weekly on those stupid weekly gossip magazine like US and OK!. When was the last time you saw Randy Orton or CM Punk on anything?

CM who most of you are asking I'm sure. CM Punk is probably one of the best wrestlers in the company and an amazing promo. Hell John Cena is the guy they are pushing and he isn't on anything.

I never liked Nova's work. I thought he was overrated because of his ECW ties and to be honest he comes off kinda bitter. I agree with some of the things he is saying but comparing Jersey Shore with WWE aside from the fact that both are scripted (I assume as I've never seen Jersey Shore and I don't know anyone other then Snukims or Sooki or Snooki or whatever her name is).

I am writing about this because it kinda pissed me off. If WWE was treated like Jersey Shore I think more people would know guys like John Cena and CM Punk. Instead it is looked down upon once again. 10 years ago football players were giving the nWo sign on the sidelines. Guys were scoring touchdowns and giving the Diamond Cutter sign. Everyone wanted a piece of WWF/WCW back when they were pulling 6's and 7's in the ratings but times have changed.

So this is how it feels...

So this is how it feels to be the last sane person on earth. Yeah, I'm the last one I think. Christine O'Donnell won the primary in Delaware as a Tea Party candidate. As some of you may have seen on The Daily Show, Colbert Report and probably every other late night talk show there is a clip of O'Donnell on some MTV show talking about sex. She talks about lust and masturbation and how you can't masturbate without lust and the bible says something about lust masturbation and adultery. I didn't really listen or care. For one I'm not in Delaware. Two I don't give two shits about my politicians religious believes. Three it was from MT-fucking-V and probably twenty years ago. For all I know she has become some kind of monster slut since then but I doubt that.

The reason I bring that up is that....

Okay random comment here but I'm watching Goldeneye while writing this and my god is Famke Janssen amazingly hot in this film, I mean just fantastic. I think she looks her best in this film...wait...am I suddenly lustful? Better get back on topic...

The reason I bring this stuff up is because I had to run to the store to get coke for drinking, of the alcoholic kind, and Sean Hannity was talking about this very topic. He then ranted that this was horrible and that we wouldn't be doing this if someone had talked about having hundreds of partners. He also invoked the Clinton name and his past with unattractive...I mean with women. Lets tackle each of these topics and I'll talk more about my thoughts later on.

First off the hundreds of partners. I am pretty sure if someone came out and said he...or she, gotta be politically correct, had hundreds of partners they would lambasted in the media by both sides. Now personally I don't care. I don't give a shit if the person is fucking WHILE giving a speech. Hell I might watch more often. But seriously it is none of my business which brings me to the second part of this, the Clinton stuff.

He talked about how the media sat on the Clinton story for months. They then talked about how everyone was saying it was a private matter and not our business. Am I the only one who see's the difference? Possibly so let me spell it out. William Jefferson Clinton didn't go on MT-FUCKING-V talking about banging Jennifer Flowers. O'Donnell did which made it a PUBLIC issue (I almost typed pubic...yes I am a bit of a 15 year old sometimes). She didn't mean for it to become an election issue but if I go into office my ranting and ravings here could very well become public record for the voters to see and read as well. So to my voting public...Vote the Fat Man in 2016. Hell it's better then what you've had since Clinton!

Lastly let me say this. Hannity is just as bad as the others for bring this up. He could easily just let it be. Give this no coverage and in a day or two it most likely will go away as they will have something else to mock, like Glenn Beck.

I wish we could just get rid of this 24 hour "news" bullshit and worry about the issues. You know, what said person will try to do in office.

So this is how it feels to be the last sane person on earth and to be honest I don't like it. I think I need to speed up my plans for building the Ark in Michigan. Until next time...

Random Stuff

Okay here goes. I am just saying some random crap this time around. Hopefully no major ranting, yelling and swearing...but as you guys know that isn't a guarantee.

So first off is the Colony. They are on episode 8. I figure 2 or 4 more episodes before the end. I have enjoyed this season a little more then last season. It seems more 'real' as it were. At the start of the show they have the disclaimer that they the colonialist get off air help which makes sense as you don't want people actually dying during a TV show. I am sure, much like other 'reality' shows, some things were re-shot. Last week I can see where some people though that on member of the colony saw the newest member, Tick, sneak in and leave a note. It's possible it was a re-shot or it is possible fans are looking for things. I can see both.

Overall I would like to see a third season but with all average people. Not with former snipers (tick), construction workers (reno), mechanics (sally) and other people with skill sets. Take my friends, where none of us are mechanically inclined, well Big E is to a certain extent but you get my drift. I couldn't build a windmill or fix a boat engine. I would be about as helpful as Sian as far as that goes. However, even though I am not a fighter, I would not back down and probably become insane like Jim has.

Also this week they got a cell phone with videos from family to test their emotional stability or some crap. I kinda like that but here is my problem with this. They are dealing with nuclear flu that is killing everyone or all but 10% of the population or something like that. Isn't it kinda ironic that EVERYONE got videos? I would have had 2 or 3 people not get videos and make it assumed that those people didn't survive. That will test their emotional stability!

I'll be honest, even if I didn't get a video I wouldn't want to watch it. Too distracting. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I want to be on this show! This week it ended with the Colony being invaded by like 30 people.

On the Daily Show they showed Andy Griffith, that man is AMAZING! That's all I want to say really. I love me some Andy.

I am currently on vacation, as it was the last time I could get time off before the holidays. So far day three and I've done nothing on my list. Well I cleaned...sorta. I really need to do something but I am not feeling well. Headache Monday and just blah yesterday. Today (Wednesday) still sluggish.

Last week Vice President Biden was on The Colbert Report and handed out hot dogs to our returning troops. One of my least favorite groups around PETA got pissed off about this and said that next time he wants to honor our men and women in uniform he should give them veggie dogs. BULLSHIT! Wait...I feel a rant and swearing coming on...fuck you PETA. As a matter of face, I might kill Ace and make a scarf out of tonight just to spite you. Hear that Ace...your dead and it's PETA's fault not mine. Also I think I am going to have Hot Dogs for lunch as well. So PETA...I've got two words for you....HOT DOGS!

For the record I miss Jon Stewart's goatee.

Over the weekend pro wrestler Mike Shaw aka Bastion Booger aka Norman the Lunatic passed away. He passed away from a heart attack which is too bad. I am glad that no media outlet picked up on this as I doubt that it's any kind of steroid abuse for those of you who know what Shaw looked like. It is his picture up top there. I always like Mike for some reason. I've always had a soft spot for the fat men of pro wrestling. John Tenta and Mike Shaw were two of my favorite guys. Shaw as Norm the Lunatic was a great kids character.

Sticking with pro wrestling Linda McMahon has been running for Senate from Connecticut. Last I saw she has made a race of out it and is within 6 points of her opponent. Life would be VERY interesting in the McMahon house hold if she wins.

Chase's online banking went down Monday and came back up recently. I was slightly upset as I didn't know my exact balance and I needed to check to see if my bills were paid. However Chase has said that they will cover any late fees incurred during the outage. That is classy and made me happy to be a Chase customer.

Okay I think that is enough. For the record I didn't kill and skin Ace...he wouldn't sit still. Okay that's not true either. He is fine and annoying as always. Until next time...Abyssinia!

Follow up on the Preacher Man

So Terry Jones, the assclown from Florida, didn't burn the Koran. He was just doing this to show how evil Muslims are. How they are all extremists. All he did was show what is wrong with America. All he did was show why we are hated in the world. Mr. Jones, sir, you are a disgrace. You have shown, atleast to me and more people if they opened their eyes, what religion actually is. Religion is a tool of hate anymore. Has anything been used as an excuse to cause more pain and death and hate? I will end this with the following quote:

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

What happened to the America of old?

I found this while getting caught up on the news. Forced recycling? Really?

Wait...I've got it. Here is an AMAZING plan. Instead of forcing people to recycle, we use a population that is growing all the time. Prisoners. All the trash in the country goes to the local prisons, where prisoners sort it.

Oh wait, even better. We set up recycling centers in every town in the country. We then hire people who are out of work to sort the trash. Brilliant! This would be amazing to fix the economy. Why don't I work for the President?

Okay let me be serious for a moment. This is bullshit. I constantly see the freedoms in this country eroding. Forced recycling. I know some areas that are forcing stores to get rid of plastic bags for more expensive paper bags. Don't get me started on the lack of smokers rights.

I know that some see this as a good thing. However what about America? I am not anti-recycling persa. I am however anti-forced anything like this. This is a choice that I can make or not make. I don't look down on people who recycle, hell they are probably better people then me. I don't recycle. Why? Lots of reasons but that isn't the point of this. The point is I shouldn't be forced to.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just in the wrong era. I mentioned recently where is the change that I heard about a few years ago. Well maybe I am looking at it...and it scares me.

Lost faith...

I am going to be brief here. After going back to the tab with the yahoo story about Terry Jones and his plan to burn the Quran I clicked on the comments to the story. I official vote for the extermination of mankind. We, as men and women, are too stupid to live any longer. The comments made me sorry to be American and to be alive. I just hope that my great nieces and nephews never see what my generation and past generations have said. I honestly have lost all faith in man today, and lets face it I didn't have a lot to begin with. I wish this was some rant or something witty for me to get some horrible pun out but it isn't. I am just truly sorry for where this world is going.

Dragon Factory by Jonathan Maberry review

This wasn't quite as good as Patient Zero....but it was a different book entirely. I know you're thinking well duh. I mean it wasn't a military action horror zombie book like Patient Zero. This one had more character development. This one has more of a story. I like Patient Zero better however. I won't ruin anything but I am not extremely happy with the direction of the book from a character standpoint. If you read Patient Zero then read this. You can actually read this without Patient Zero as they are separate stories and only the characters continue. Similar to like Tom Clancy and Jack Ryan. This story continues after Patient Zero and the DMS and Mr. Church continue to protect us from threats. This one involves genetic abominations and the extinction of billions of people. The question is can Capt. Joe Ledger and Grace save the world one more time? I enjoyed it and while it started off slow it picked up in the last 100 pages or so. This can be found here at Barnes and Noble. If you like a lot of military action, some fantasy aspects and decent writing you'll enjoy this. Read Patient Zero first and if you enjoy it read it. I gave this 3.5 out of 5. Slightly above average.

Not to be a shill for the company but this was the first book I read mostly as an ebook on the nook software. I like it. Slight eye strain but not much more than reading in general. I am really thinking about a nook now. If you haven't checked them out and do much reading you should. You should also come to Twin Falls Idaho and buy one but maybe that is too much to ask ;) However support your local BN or bookstore.

Not sure what is next. Its almost time for the yearly reading of IT but I might skip it again this year. I have the Passage by by Justin Cronin to read. I also have Ancestor by Scott Sigler as well which is the third of series. There is also Law of Nines by Terry Goodkind. Hard to decide what is next. I am however going on 24 hours awake so I think that decision will be made at another time. Until next time...

Anger Issues

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an angry person. I don't know why but I am. I like to swear...alot...and not always in a bad way. You get me in a good mood I swear. A bad mood...I swear. Hell if I don't care I swear. They are just words to me, fun FUN words, but just words. But you are a certain kind of person if you use them. I am not saying a bad or good person, but a certain kind of person.

I don't know where I was going with that, I really don't. In case you haven't noticed I don't plan alot when I blog. I do it because it is my new therapy. Today however I nearly lost it. I know some of you are thinking at work. Nope...although it is coming folks...Mount Gene is about to boil over and god help the poor employees. However I don't want to talk about work here. I was done for the day after a relatively ok day. I went to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries with my tip money...yes I eat on my tip money...lots of tuna fish and $1.12 totinos pizzas. As I was pulling this blonde bimbo in front of me stops as I was turning behind her, so I am now blocking both lanes of traffic. Why? Because someone is loading their groceries into their truck. Thats right, they weren't getting into their truck. They didn't have their lights on. Nope, they were still LOADING THE MOTHER FUCKING TRUCK! I shit you not (see above about swearing). I blocked traffic, looked like a fucking tool for this bimbo.

So I am seething at this point. I figure this must be one of those fat fucks (like me) who will only walk if they get a free cheeseburger out of it. Nope. She is in fucking work out gear! WORK OUT GEAR! I swear to you I almost ask her if she worked out so hard at the gym she couldn't walk another 5 feet. I was going to offer to carry her if she needed it the damn bimbo bitch (one of my favorite sayings by the way, bimbo bitch...say it...it rolls off the tongue...I'll wait...I told you so).

See anger issues. I don't think most people would want to run up, grab the whore by the dyed blonde hair (you could see her dark roots, sex on some people and maybe her if I wasn't so blinded by rage and hatred), slam her into the handicap parking sign and stop her face. Then yell at her as she screamed that now she wouldn't have to hold up the rest of the world she could just park in the handicap stop....BITCH! Honestly that scene went through my head as I whistled and went into Wal-Mart.

Does that make me a bad person. I also have visions of running up and kneeing random people in the head ala William Regal (see this link). Men, women, children, it doesn't matter. Hell sometimes fellow co-workers. Again probably makes me a bad person but I don't care its me.

Ok here is a brief interruption. I am doing laundry as I am blogging and just now I saw a nerd...trust me this guy almost made me look cool...and he had silk sheets. Not one set...two sets of silk sheets. I was dumbstruck to say the least. Anyway back to our regularly scheduled rant.

Actually there isn't much else to say. I thought some might enjoy the picture of me beating up the bimbo bitch, I know I do anytime I think about it. Until next time...
