Classic Wrestling Review: 1994-01-22 Worldwide

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you have found this entry. Today, 2020-02-22, we are going back to 1994 once more to check out the January 22nd edition of WCW Worldwide!  We are going to see HOGAN in action for the first time in 1994....well his brother Randy Hogan.  Too Cool and Marcus Bagwell are here.  The Nastys are in action as are the Cole Twins and others.  So enough chit chat lets go down to Disney and the spinning ring!
  • The Godwinns on the way to the ring
  • Seriously what kind of tattoo is that that Brian James has?
  • Plus with his hair like that he looks so much like his daddy Bullet Bob
  • The Godwinns are a guilty pleasure of mine, I always like them either as hog farmers or the Texicans as The Body says
  • Why are the people in the background doing the Public Enemy wave?
  • It did not look like Sandlin did not help with that suplex
  • Is it weird that Sting took his new finisher from a lower mid-card tag team in WCW?  I am sure others did the move but the first people I saw do it was this duo
  • I never did like Pillman's interviews
  • They decide to recap this feud?  Z-Man and DDP?
  • Poor Erik, never got a chance because of his name.  He was not bad but pushed way too quickly by daddy
  • Uggg, I hate that underhook arm drag
  • That STF looks as good as Cena's....not sure if that is a good or bad thing
  • The Cole Twins just never clicked did they?
  • Really?  That is their finish?
  • Where is Missy...oh there she is...how did I miss those....er....her
  • The Nastys are just that are they not?  I wonder how much working was done with them back in the day
  • Look at that old lady dance!
  • Jesse with quite a few AWA references
  • Wait....they just did the Cole Twins finisher!  Did they not watch the other matches?
  • That suplex was not quite perfect!  BAM!
  • THERE HE IS!  THE NOT IMMORTAL HOGAN!!
  • Why did they bill him from LA and not Venice Beach?
  • Dear lord look at that strength by Vader!
  • HOGAN KICKED OUT!  WATCH OUT FOR THE BOOT VADER!
  • HOGAN KICKED OUT AGAIN!
  • Interesting, it was not quite the moonsault
  • Why is Flair in the back?
  • Wait....Fifi is there?  But Mean Gene just teased on the Hotline that Fifi had disappeared
  • Ummm, the World does not have corners Naitch!
A very good show this week minus the Cole Twin match.  Sorry they were just very basic.  It shows that the 1994 WCW Roster had amazing tag teams.  Also, is this the best we ever saw Vader?  That 1992-mid 1994 Vader was amazing.  He could move, he could talk, you had Harley out there with him.  I would love to pluck that Vader and put in here in 2020 and let him be him.  Damn that would be amazing with some of the athletes we have now in wrestling!  Overall nothing to seek out but the Vader match is fun because it is Hogan ;)

Classic Wrestling Review: 1994-01-22 WCWSN

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2020-02-13, we are going back in time to 1994 to watch the Jan 22nd edition.  We are building to the Clash of the Champions and I am sure we will hear from Flair and Sting at least.  Enough talk its time to build that WCWSN cyborg!
  • I love this version of Missy, I think I say that every time we see her
  • Why is Missy wearing jeans, it looks weird
  • They are really letting Starr shine
  • CLUBBERING!!!!
  • If it taking the Nastys this long to beat Oates and Starr they have no chance against Cactus and Maxx
  • Listen to the crowd!  They are hot to trot!
  • He is on every show, it is like his dad in charge or something!
  • Seriously I would have Dustin on every show too because he is one of the best they have
  • Why is Dustin getting 15 minutes?  TV Title time limit is supposed to 10.  Obviously, someone is out against his Lordship
  • Another great Rhodes match!
  • He does NOT speak for me Mean Gene
  • TC was a hell of a bumper
  • Ron Simmons is the mystery partner!
  • We will see Ron Simmons with a cigar a lot in the future
  • Is Steel trying to be Jimmy Snuka?
  • Look at Bob's hair!
  • The Thesz Press is a horrible looking move.  I mean...um....well it looks like they are having sex!
  • Really?  Vader is talking about Flair's wife?
  • Burton and Scorpio were not in sync there
  • Was Austin drunk?  He was making weird faces during the entrance but also during he interview earlier
  • What is up with the good guys and their weird long-delayed entrance
  • That was the highest reverse atomic drop I have ever seen by Rude and the Boss!
  • I think the way the Boss went over the top is one of my favorite bumps
  • Sting with a Ron Simmons style powerslam to the man himself
Strangely as I went to post this I did not put any notes of my thoughts for the show so it is just the results!

2020-01-03 ROH Review

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you found this entry.  Today, 2020-02-13, we are going back to the first of the year to check out the first ROH show of 2020.  I have not followed ROH steadily so it will be interesting to see what we have.  Let us go to the ring now!

  • Man the ROH title is almost as ugly as the AEW title
  • What is that with Kenny King....is she part fish?
  • Why do so many wrestling shows have sex/dick pill commercials
  • Man I love Silas
  • Black looks like Bo Dallas!
  • Draper is the 2019 Top Prospect?  Really?
  • Nice Belly to Back by Ali, I mean picture perfect
  • Listen to that massive crowd of like 20 people responding
  • Good grief what is what wrestlers and their goof faces these days?
  • Really?  Wasteland is your finisher?  Weak finisher and it always has been
  • Is Lethal morphing into 2 Cold Scorpio?
  • I do like Brian Zane
  • I like Jeff Cobb and I wonder if WWE has given him a call
  • I like Marty at first but his gimmick wore out pretty quickly for me
  • Why was Marty outside the ring or so long?
  • If that does not finish the match nothing can
  • The young lady left side of the hard camera does not look like she is enjoying herself at all
  • This match is going way too long
Honestly, that show was not that good.  The main event went through three segments and should have been cut in a third.  Draper and Ali were okay but again too long.  A LOT of PCO which is okay I guess since he is the pushed monster at the moment.  But, if I can be honest, I was bored.  The entire time I was bored waiting to write this and watch something else.  Not a great re-introduction to ROH let us hope it gets better in the future!
