Movie Review: Other Side of the Door

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whenever it is you've found this entry.  Today, 9/4, I am watching The Other Side of the Door (2016).  It stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto and Sofia Rosinsky.  "After her young son is killed in a tragic accident, a woman learns of a ritual which will bring him back to say goodbye, but when she disobeys a sacred warning, she upsets the balance between life and death."  It currently has a 5.3/10 over on IMDB.  I know very little of the flick so I have no expectations.
  • A simple no would have been fine little one
  • Is it wrong that I'm already bored and what Lori....I mean whatever Sarah's character dead?
  • That kid is kind of creepy in that close up like that
  • Cowards way out Lori! (Yes I'll call her Lori throughout this, get used to it!)
  • Not only did she just dig up her son she also is burning him up/cremating him
  • Wait....they are going to EAT her son and she is going with that
  • Yep just keep walking past all those dead birds, probably not a sign
  • That match lets of a LOT of light
  • Lori...what have you done?
  • She is talking to a stuff tiger...that was buried with her brother...and she isn't troubled by this
  • BORED!
  • So is this Carls dad?
  • What kind of weird thing was she just doing?  Random chanting
  • Yeah that is normal, not the evil spirit you let loose throwing around the toy chest
  • She is bipolar in this flick like The Walking Dead
  • So Lori is okay with this demon spawn in her house?
  • Gotta get energy to manifest itself somehow, why not birds and plants
  • Oliver is just protecting his sister
  • Lucy has a really weird voice
  • Oliver bit her?  That was uncalled for!
  • Apparently hell doesn't have piano lessons because Oliver still sucks
  • I don't think Khan did anything to deserve that!
  • Lori can never keep track of her kids.  Where's Carl?  Where's Luce?
  • Lori isn't stopping her from getting ahold of Oliver
  • This movie makes no sense!
  • BORED!
  • This is what happens when you feed strays, they keep coming back for more!
  • Well this took a turn to the extreme quickly!
  • Good grief, did the husband actually do the same thing Lori did?
Let me start by saying that the idea of this flick is amazing.  The idea of that you can bring the dead back to talk to but not see is a great concept and then by bringing them back it causes an imbalance also good.  However, the execution was HORRIBLE!

Why was Myrtu after Lori at all till the end?  She wasn't in her way of getting to Oliver ever!  I just don't understand it.  Also why didn't Piki tell Lori everything?  Like when she could open the door. What would would happen if she did open the door.  Things like that, you know REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS!

The execution of the entire flick was bad and I'm sorry but Lori just isn't a strong enough actress to carry a film on her own.

Overall I give it a 3/10.  Great idea but beyond that not good.  I'd say to avoid this unless you have NOTHING else to watch...then I'd go watch something you've seen before!

Movie Review: The Boy

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whenever it is you're reading this.  Today I'm checking out The Boy (2016). As of 9/4/16 it has a 6/10 over in IMDB. It stars Lauren Cohan, Rupert Evans and James Russell.  "An American nanny is shocked that her new English family's boy is actually a life-sized doll. After she violates a list of strict rules, disturbing events make her believe that the doll is really alive."  That sounds...interesting...but I don't see anything about zombies so I might be confused seeing Maggie without them...

  • Perverted cabbie, nice start to a movie
  • Lauren sounds weird without her Southern or British accent
  • I'm pretty sure that first meeting would get me to leave right away...what with the fact that the woman is super creepy
  • It really is a doll...yeah I'd just turn around and leave...unless the pay was really good
  • Yeah...I'm pretty sure I'd leave even if the money was good
  • The traps?
  • And of course she has some dark past as well...sometimes movies try to hard.
  • Wait...he made a mess of his room?  I mean I know the concept above but still it is very odd
  • Yeah, pretty sure I'd be following them out after they behaved that way and the creepy old woman quoted the doctor "I'm so sorry"
  • And of course it storms night one
  • Is she going to kiss the painting?
  • Is the doll going to be in her room?
  • The doll is crying?  I'm so confused
  • Don't go in the attic...why would you go in the attic?
  • Did I mention she sounds really weird with a straight American accent?
  • THE CALLS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!
  • She does have an amazing smile
  • Where has Brams been?  And he suddenly shows up on the screen...which was weird
  • Insert Psycho knife attack sounds here
  • Is her hair cut weirdly suddenly
  • Go say sorry to Brahms and everything will be fine
  • Knew she shouldn't have messed with the attic
  • Should have taken a torch...flashlight....not a fire torch...that'd be weird!
  • The storm has passed, everything will be okay
  • The first thing I'd be doing is leaving, very quickly
  • Odd, that is an odd question...see what I did there
  • He is or was 10 years old?  I'm confused...wait it was the phone voices son I think
  • And of course the phone isn't working....till it does....with no one there....but a creepy kids voice
  • And the doll is officially moving around.  Much like Chucky, just put a trashcan and a brick over him and be done with it
  • Oh he made her a PB&J, that was very nice of him!
  • They are going to drown themselves?  Sleeping pills would be less extreme!  But then they'd be found
  • Never ask for that!  Never ask for a sign!
  • Oh this is starting to make more sense
  • Jesus she is doing the creepy prayer now?!
  • She is breaking rule number 1!  BEWARE THE WRATH OF BRAHMS!
  • No matter how good looking Lauren is this is the wrong level of crazy!
  • Oh no...the ex broke in
  • LANGUAGE!!
  • Well that isn't a good sound....
  • Well that actually gave me chills!
  • Wait...has he been hiding in the house all this time?
  • I did not see this coming at all....it was no spirit at all
  • Why is he trying to kill all of them...or is just the guys?
  • Smart playing off the "rules"
  • A gut stab is just mean!
That wasn't a bad movie at all.  I'd say it was a 7/10.  It was better then I had expected as I hadn't heard good things.

Not a lot of "plot holes" in the sense that things didn't make sense which is a good thing.  There were a lot of things that I didn't understand but came to make sense as the flick went on.

They foreshadowed a lot which was very good and the acting was very well done.  Everyone did a good job and Lauren gave a fantastic performance especially since she was acting with a doll for a portion of the flick

It isn't exactly how I'd have ended the flick, I'd have somehow forced Greta and Malcolm into being his new "parents" and continuing the "cycle" but that is just me.

However, at the end of the day not a bad horror/suspense flick!

Movie Review: Frailty

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever you've come across this entry (whenever it is I post it).  Today (9/4) I am watching Frailty (2001) which stars Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe.  It has a 7.3 over on IMDB  "A man confesses to an FBI agent his family's story of how his religious fanatic father's visions lead to a series of murders to destroy supposed "demons.""  Lets go kill some demons!
  • Wow, that guy has a Sgt. Slaughter chin!
  • Why are FBI agents almost always southern?
  • Powers Boothe is a great actor
  • Demons are taking over the world!  That makes a lot of sense, I thought lizard people but demons make more sense
  • Kids are always kind of creepy in movies
  • I once put a tack on someones chair...but I don't think he was the devil
  • That is a LOT of peas!
  • Meatballs & Warriors...two drastically different movies
  • A vision from God?  Good grief!
  • Of course rednecks from Texas are the ones to know that the end of the world is coming
  • Wait...did Fenton imagine it all...is he the Hand of God killer?
  • Of course, magic axe and gloves...and then the magic pipe!
  • Wait...the gloves and axe are each weapons?  That is confusing, I thought the gloves activated the magic in the axe
  • Maybe?  Of course he isn't right in the head!
  • So God sends him lists of people to kill?  Didn't Son of Sam's neighbors dog do the same thing
  • Demons are like Santa Clause?  Krampus is still real though right?
  • Is that the Holy Pipe he has?
  • Sadly people believe shit like this in real life, nut jobs
  • Nice use of music in this scene, could have used some special effects of him seeing demons perhaps
  • Awesome, they have a murder van now!
  • Yeah that would mess a kid up
  • The camera shake gimmick was nice
  • I like this Fenton kid, I relate to him
  • I'm stubborn enough I might have gone back out and dug all night, especially as a kid!
  • Is that demon Michael Bay?  I almost encourage that demon being destroyed!
  • And now the Sheriff has to die because of you kiddo
  • Nice use of lighting there, Fenton fading into the darkness
  • That is one creepy rose garden
  • Again the sad thing is people do this to their own kids
  • Weeks without food...then you get an amazing TV dinner...that is awesome!
  • This guy...might actually be a demon...
  • Wait...did Fenton really "see God"?  I would have lied through my teeth then got the hell out of there
  • OH MY GOD!  IS GOING TO KILL HIS DAD!!
  • Young Fenton looks a little bit like ROH star Kyle O'Reilly
  • Yeah...his destiny
  • Good thing no one ever goes into that rose garden
  • Wait...that wasn't right...that doesn't make sense...its all been a lie...he is Adam?  I guess he never killed a person so he didn't like
  • You just have to have a little faith!
  • No I see why they didn't do the demon visions earlier
  • This was all a set up?  Was any of that story true?
  • Huh...I guess there is something to the whole "faith" thing
Well that was interesting.  I have to say I didn't have it figured out until the Fenton/Adam thing in the Rose Garden.  Very well done and great performances by everyone.

Overall I'd give it an 8/10.  It was really well done and had me completely fooled, thinking it was just an admission of his past crimes.

There isn't a lot more for me to about this film without major spoilers but if you like a good thriller/suspense flick check this one out!

Until next time...remember...you just have a little faitha faitha faitha

Movie Review: Blair Witch

Last night I watched the latest in the Blair Witch saga....Blair Witch.  It stars James Allen McCune, Callie Hernandez and Corbin Reid.  "After discovering a video showing what he believes to be his sister's experiences in the demonic woods of the Blair Witch, James and a group of friends head to the forest in search of his lost sibling."

THE GOOD

  • The return to the POV/found footage was what this series needed (with a minor complaint you'll find later on).  The second flick was so bad this needed to go back its roots
  • This movie was pretty scary.  The people I were with screamed a few times and there was one very loud "Jesus" said.  I will admit I jumped once, perhaps twice.  It wasn't on the same scale as Paranormal Activity for jumping but it was better then a lot of horror lately
  • They did a unique POV idea with "ear" cameras which were basically bluetooth headsets but cameras instead which was nice and different

    THE BAD
    • The acting of the support cast was poor to down right bad!
      • I seriously could not stand the supporting cast.  James and Callie were very good but the rest of the cast...not so much.  I don't like to single out specific people but Brandon Scott was especially poor.  For someone with a pretty extensive resume he was down right bad.
    • For the first time ever in something that was first person/POV/shaky cam I got a slight headache.  While the idea of the 'ear' cams was different it was worse then the handheld POV

      The Ugly
      • There were several plot holes in the flick
        1. What was up with the thing being in Ashley's injury?  They never really addressed it but they played it up that it was important to the story.  Maybe I missed it when I went out to get my ice cream but it seemed like it would play more into the story.
        2. Ashley in general.  They had her looking very sick after her injury...dare I say almost witch like, only for that to seemingly be forgotten.
      • There were A LOT of jump scares.  A few are okay but I think it was over half a dozen
      • The pacing was weird in this flick.  It escalated WAY too quickly yet felt like it drug, its hard to explain
Overall and enjoyable horror flick that I enjoyed more then I expected.  I give it a 6/10.  Nothing ground breaking, but the bad and the ugly out weighed the good just a bit.  Enjoyable and worth seeing in the theater unless you have a large TV.  Until next time...don't go into the woods.  Not because of this movie but because they are a dirty gross place!

      Was I wr....wr...wro...wrong?

Is it possible that I was wrong?  Until recently I don't think I was wrong about ANYTHING....EVER! Well I was once but comes to find I was mistaken!

Okay seriously though is it possible I was wrong about Colin Kaepernick and others protesting the National Anthem?  I heard others talk about it was about the message and not about the protester and I disagreed.

Let me say here that I'm not one of the most patriotic individuals in the world.  I stand for the National Anthem and remove my hat.  I don't know if I put my hand over my heart...probably do because it is automatic results but I'm not sure its been a long time since I was at an event that played it.  I didn't put a flag pin on after 9/11 or one of those magnetic flag ribbons. But as the song says, I am proud to be an American.

Like a lot of people I felt that he was going about it the wrong way that his message would be drowned out by his actions (I don't think I said it well in my previous blog about it but my lovely girlfriend can confirm that is what I meant).

However as more and more NFL players joined Colin it slowly moved from the protest to the message.  That is a good thing.  What these men are talking about is a serious issue right now in the US and I didn't mean to down play it if I did.

While I still disagree with sitting during the Anthem I still say it is his right.  If what these men are doing brings the discussion of race relations to the forefront in a time there hasn't just been another loss of life then isn't that a good thing?

So I ask you all again...was I wr....was I wro.....was I wrong when I thought that this was a pointless protest to keep his name in the limelight after a few bad years and being benched?

Movie Review: 30 Days of Night

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whnever it is you've found this entry.  Today I'm check out the 2007 flick 30 Days of Night.  It stars Josh Hartnett, Melissa George and Danny Huston. "After an Alaskan town is plunged into darkness for a month, it is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires."  I can't wait to see sparkly vampires devoring a town!!

      • A close up on Ben Foster is not the best way to start a flick I don't think
      • Look at those old phones!
      • 152 huh?  That will come back so will the inhaler I'm sure
      • The helicopter now damaged?  not a very good cop if he hasn't figured out its escape and communication going down
      • The fat old man dies first huh?
      • Boozes is illegal for a month?  That is crazy talk!
      • Why did she pull a gun of crazy guy?
      • Yeah I don't think Gus is going to answer
      • Are kids like veal for vampires?
      • Nice music for the first attack
      • This kind of non-linear storytelling works better in comics then movies at times, I felt confused for a few moments
      • They can outrun cars why didn't they this time?
      • Still a few pockets of resistance out there I guess
      • Where is Manu Bennett through all this?
      • Did they bring food up to the attic?
      • Bye Ben Foster, we hardly knew you or cared about you in this flick
      • I think I'd just eat a bullet, honestly I think I would, at this point
      • A trap?
      • The leader of the vampires is fantastic since most of his acting is done with body language and facial expressions
      • Is the sheriff addicted to something?  Trying to figure out what is wrong with him
      • Cats playing with a mouse
      • Seriously where is Manu Bennett?
      • Wait...how did he turn?  Why did he turn?  The scratch?
      • And the infighting begins even worse, they'll die soon at this rate
      • Are the basic vampires, like Baldie McBloodyface unintelligent/drones.  You know just driven to feed and able to follow basic instructions from the leader?
      • With those two gone more food for the rest of them
      • Yeah look out, that will be real smart...surprised he didn't do that
      • Not sure if it is brilliant or the dumbest idea ever to move in the blizzard/snow
      • Did the sheriff not pick up his gun?
      • Wait..can they all talk "human"
      • Is "muffin monster" guy going to turn because of the scratch?
      • This movie feels really long...am I old when I think more and more movies are too long
      • Really bright in that store with no lights
      • Won't the vampires know the generator is running?
      • How did he survive the dynamite blast
      • How did Billy survive this long?  How did he know they were in the office?
      • Did he kill his family?!?!  OH MY GOD HE DID!
      • His house is really bright too
      • Knew someone was going into the muffin maker!
      • Of course he is going to try and get to her
      • So he is going to kill himself...so his girlfriend can live...without him?
      • That is the opposite of running
      • Baldie McBloodyface has a twin?
Well that wasn't a horrible movie.  I'd give it a 6/10.  Nothing great but sure wasn't horrible either.

The acting wasn't bad, although some of the minor characters weren't great.  Harnett gave a decent performance but at points seemed uninspired.  I read that he was sick with mono for two weeks so that could be a reason but I felt in certain scenes he seemed....well bored.  It was the performance of Mark Boone Junior and the infected guy who gets killed in the police station that stood out for me. Ben Foster was good but didn't have a lot.

The story itself was very good but the actions of the characters at times didn't make sense and there were several plot holes that I saw.  The main one being that the humans shouldn't have been able to hide from the vamps.  Eben says something to the effect that he can smell their blood.  If that is true how did McBloodyface not smell them in the bathroom and/or attic when they were hiding?  Also how did the humans survive from a food and heat standpoint?  If all power was out even with kerosene stoves and heat I feel like they'd freeze and/or starve.  Also I don't understand why they felt they needed to move from the attic, perhaps I missed the logic but I didn't see it unless it was for food but that isn't what I understood.

The good was the amazing makeup for the vampires.  They were creepy and scary and that is what vampires are supposed to be.  I am not suppose to love the vampires which seems to be more the trend lately!

Overall not a bad movie but nothing special.  If you're looking for a decent flick this isn't a bad flick to check out.

Until next time, remember, the sun will come up tomorrow!

Book Review: Altered Carbon (Takeshi Kovacs, #1)

I found this book because it was on a list on Goodreads of the top Sci-Fi books.  The concept was interesting but honestly I found the book a difficult read for a few reasons:

      1.  The use of British slang/spelling always throws me off just a bit
      2.  I felt like I came into the book in the middle of it.  Terms were used that had no context at first.  You learned throughout the book what they meant (kind of, you had to assume a lot).
      3.  The author used 20 words when 5 would have sufficed
      4.  A LOT of characters

It was VERY wordy, and I am a Stephen King fan.  I found myself skimming quite often because of this.  Some people like this and I guess this is just a personal preference but at times cutting out words is not a bad thing, it is a good thing.

This also felt a little bit like Under the Dome.  They needed to give me a list of characters to remind me who some of these people were at times.  Characters were introduced then forgotten only to show back up.

I guess overall I'd say middle of the road for this book.  I liked it...well I liked the idea behind it.  The idea that a persons "soul" or personality/memories or whatever you want to call it can be transferred from body to body is a great Sci-Fi idea.  Then of course you have the rich flaunting it over the rest of the world.

However the execution just felt off to me.  Maybe I've read too many sequels recently or "modern" non-Sci-Fi books but I struggled with this one.  For it to be so high up on the list I found surprises me.

Overall...if you REALLY want a Sci-fi book there are worse books out there but this isn't something I'd run out to buy and read right now.

      Movie Review: Insidious Chapter 3

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whenever you've found this blog.  I'm back with another movie review, this time the 3rd installment of the Insidious series.  It stars Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott and Angus Sampson.  "A prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family that reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity."
      • Wait...so it is old Elise again?
      • This series loves to play with time
      • As creepy as I find Elise, Lin Shaye does an amazing job in the role
      • Ah the love of siblings
      • Nice to see the movies director show up in his own flick...and being a jerk
      • Bet that guy was playing Pokemon Go
      • The above statement won't make sense in a year
      • I think dad likes that neighbor kid
      • So whose story is this this time?  Quinns?  Elise?  Mine?  Who knows
      • OH MY GOD!  It is the tar monster from Scooby Doo!  RUN ELISE RUN!
      • Never look over the edge of the bed
      • I still think it is the tar monster from Scooby Doo.  I think he had a breathing mask
      • First you look under the bed then you peak out from under the blanket.  YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE MONSTER RULES!
      • You don't need hands...or feet...or a face
      • Seriously when are Wyatts going to show up.  They keep using the Lantern gimmick!
      • More playing with the timeline?
      • Ah some foreshadowing
      • I love that Tucker is always eating
      • I am digging Tuckers haircut
      • Why is Specs wearing a Casper the Friendly Ghost jacket?  As a goof?
      • Parker really hates Elise for some reason
      • I knew it would be her husband in some way, obviously a trick but still
What to say about Chapter 3 here.  It has the best flow of any of them and I feel that it was the best written, minus the teenage talk, of the three.  However the acting took a step back.

The dad and the girl are not nearly the actors the main characters of 1 & 2 are.  This felt like more of a suspense flick than a horror flick and I liked that as well.  I just feel that the acting dropped it down a notch.  It could also be watching all three in two days wore me down on the scares involved, its hard to tell.

As I mentioned above I think the actress who does Elise is amazing in the role and Tucker and Specs are great as their bit part comedy duo.

I think the flick as a whole was just missing something...and I think that some was Patrick Wilson. He was the actor in the first two that made them better than they were I think.

Overall I'll continue with my 6/10 standings of all three flicks.  Until next time....Abyssinia!

      Movie Review: Insidious Chapter 2

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whenever it is you're reading this!  I am back with another movie review, this time I return to the world of horror with Insidious: Chapter 2.  I watched this several weeks back but as of posting this on 9/6/16 it has an IMDB rating of 6.6.  "The Lamberts believe that they have defeated the spirits that have haunted their family, but they soon discover that evil is not beaten so easily."  It stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Barbara Hershey.
      • Uggg, already we're time shifting!  Where is the Doctor to protect the timeline damn it!
      • Is that a fake beard?  Looks fake to me
      • Young Elise is as creepy as old one.
      • Did they dub old Elise over young?  Its creepy and doesn't seem to fit
      • This scene is really off-putting with the voice dub if that is what is happening.  It just seems off
      • I think that is Steve Harvey!
      • That kids walker with all the noise will come back into play
      • Has she learned nothing from all the weirdness, DON'T GO INVESTIGATE SHIT!
      • Really?  You used to be the logical one Josh
      • Why would they go investigate?  It makes no sense!  They know what is going to happen!
      • If this shit really happened to someone I don't think they'd ever turn the lights off
      • Ah yes, drugs to help you sleep.  That won't cause any problems with seeing things or what not
      • So he was using a bluetooth headset telling his mistress she has to go
      • Patrick Wilson does a good job at being creepy!
      • Why are basements/laundry rooms always poorly lit/powered in horror movies?
      • Why would you ever leave the baby alone?
      • YAHTZEE!
      • Sorry they are letters, I guess it is more like Boggle
      • THEY'RE HERE
      • That was one hell of a slap
      • Well that is creepy, smelling his wife
      • Lots of attempted jump scares in these flicks
      • I told you all of this was Josh's moms fault
      • They just left all the records there in the old hospital, how nice
      • Has Josh checked on his daughter yet?
      • What is he going to do with a bat against ghosts?
      • For once people are being logical.  I'd be leaving too.  Tucker and Specs are almost logically...almost
      • That is not your brothers voice....
      • I knew that chandelier was coming down at some point!
      • Perfect place for Shave and a Hair Cut
      • So basically this is a Norman Bates situation to the Nth degree
      • Nice game of cat and mouse
      • Well that guy was quite creepy
      • Yep we need the Doctor to protect the timeline
      • I don't know if this timeline jumping is annoying, stupid or brilliant
      • Why would they have the kids come home?
      • Who didn't see the ending with Josh happening the way it did?
Okay I'm not sure what to think about this flick either.  They aren't bad movies but they are just there for me.  I feel like this one tried to be a little too much.  Slight comedy.  Slight Sci-Fi.  Horror.  What do you call it?  Throw in a little romance and you'd have a horror rom-com fi.

I can't blame the actors because this cast is really good, even the creepy old ladies.  They are so good in their roles.  Also the effects are well done and a lot of them seem to be practical which I like in a world of CG.

I just feel it was a little long and drawn out.  I believe a horror movie should be around 90 minutes not nearly 120.

The other thing is that I feel the pacing was bad because it was a mix of Elise and Josh and Parker and Carl and Joshs mom story.  I feel like they were trying to do too much in this flick.  It caused a pacing issue for me.  I felt like I was in a standard car with someone learning to drive it.  Very jerky.

Overall I'd give this one a 6/10 as well.  Worth checking out I guess if you like horror but nothing to get super excited about

Sometimes I wish people would just go away!

There are people that you just can't stand.  You know the ones.  For me it is "celebrity" Lena Dunham.

Yeah I don't know why you're still a thing either
This woman disgusts me.  There are few things I can't stand and honestly make me sick to my stomach.  People who abuse animals and child molesters.  I don't think Lena abuses animals but she is an admitted molester.

Yeah that is true.  You can read some of the highlights of this past story here from a USA Today Story.  Basically though she said she did everything a sexual predator would do to her sister including bribing her with candy for kisses on the lips and other things.  She used the phrase in her book then got upset when people caught it and was disgusted by it.

She is also known for taking swipes and digs at anything she disagrees with, especially from a political standpoint, yet not being able to take any criticism herself.

So why am I bringing this up now?  Because she is being completely unreasonable and honestly a little bit of a bitch in my opinion.  Recently Lena was at something at the Met and got offended when Odell Beckham Jr. didn't take the time to have sex with her.  Okay that statement was a little extreme, but that is what she implied when she went on a rant on twitter about how horrible Beckham is.

You can read a full story here:

"You and I were literally sitting across from each other at the Met Ball, and it was so surreal to get to do that.

I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, “That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.” It wasn’t mean — he just seemed confused. …

The vibe was very much like … ‘Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone.” It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie. I was like, “This should be called the Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes.”

Because he has to acknowledge everyone.  Hell I'm betting he didn't have a clue on who she is!

She then goes on Instagram and "apologizes"

"“I owe Odell Beckham Jr an apology. Despite my moments of bravado, I struggle at industry events (and in life) with the sense that I don’t rep a certain standard of beauty and so when I show up to the Met Ball surrounded by models and swan-like actresses it’s hard not to feel like a sack of flaming garbage. This felt especially intense with a handsome athlete as my dinner companion and a bunch of women I was sure he’d rather be seated with. But I went ahead and projected these insecurities and made totally narcissistic assumptions about what he was thinking, then presented those assumptions as facts. I feel terrible about it. Because after listening to lots of valid criticism, I see how unfair it is to ascribe misogynistic thoughts to someone I don’t know AT ALL. Like, we have never met, I have no idea the kind of day he’s having or what his truth is. But most importantly, I would never intentionally contribute to a long and often violent history of the over-sexualization of black male bodies- as well as false accusations by white women towards black men. I’m so sorry, particularly to OBJ, who has every right to be on his cell phone. The fact is I don’t know about his state of mind (I don’t know a lot of things) and I shouldn’t have acted like I did. Much love and thanks, Lena”

Notice most of it was about her and how she is the victim because she isn't like other women there.

Okay I realize that I am probably not being objective about this at all.  The fact that I think this woman should be in prison makes me rough on her but I'm glad that other people jumped at her and "forced" the above statement.  Amazing how social media works for you and against you huh?

I'll try to be more positive in the future but this woman makes me physically ill and I think I need a shower having talked about her this much!

      Something Good for Once

I hate how negative life has become.  EVERYTHING is doom and gloom...and if I am saying that it is something.  You turn on the news on any given day and you're almost guaranteed to get a bombing or a shooting of some kind.
You can never get rid of a bomb when you want to
I've honestly been beaten down to the point where I want to go to sleep for a few years and see if it gets better.

Sadly I almost look like this on a daily basis!
However there are occasions that you hear a good story, even if it is the result of a very VERY bad one.

A few months ago there was the tragedy in Florida at the "Gay" bar...why do we have to say gay bar, should we just say bar...where I think over people ended up dying.  A majority of the wounded went to one hospital  They have announced that they won't be billing the individual people.  Insurance yes, but nothing to the people of this horrible crime.

According to this article, the hospital will lose upwards of five million dollars.  Lets be honest, that is a drop in the bucket in the long run, but it is the right thing to do.  Other companies did things for these victims and their families as well and I wish I would have thought to write about them as well.

I picked this one for obvious reasons....
We have too much negativity in our lives and I am going to try to do more positive posts because I'm tired of it.  As the New Day says...its all about the power of positivity!

      Be a unicorn people!
