Top 250: #16: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 10/7/18, I am checking out One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.  It stars Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher and Will Sampson.  "A criminal pleads insanity after getting into trouble again and once in the mental institution rebels against the oppressive nurse and rallies up the scared patients."

  • I can say my brief visit to the ward was not like this...I would have liked some classical music however during medication time
  • THAT IS WORMTONGUE!
  • Look how young DeVito is!  I know it is 1975 but wow!
  • Dear lord that Scanlon guy looks like I will in a few years!
  • Dear lord I hate group therapy even in movies
  • This cast is full of stars
  • So this is the 16th best movie ever huh?  I am not seeing it thus far
  • I am actually kind of bored with this flick
  • BORED!
  • Wish I had more to say but honestly I feel like NOTHING of importance is happening.  Just random scenes barely connected
  • How long is this movie?  I think I have had a birthday watching this flick
  • Another 52 minutes?  Seriously?
  • Shock therapy huh?  Interesting enough it is still used in extreme cases today; glad I'm not "extreme"
  • Okay I will say a few of Jack's "one liners" are funny
  • Is that Sloth?  Fucking Sloth from Goonies?
  • Wait...So Sloth did NOT really look like that?  But other movies had a Sloth character did they not?  Mad Max?  This one?
  • Did they not have an editor for this flick?
  • Oh Billy
  • Wait...what?  I don't understand what I just saw
Well once again I realize that I like bad movies better then "good ones".  I was BORED throughout this flick.  It had moments but overall I did not feel that this flick had any flow.  It seemed like it was random scenes.  I realize that it was all about RP but overall I felt it lacked cohesion.  It lacked a narrator or a storyteller I guess.

Overall I would argue against its current 8.7.  I give it a 6/10 mostly because the cast was good.  They did a wonderful job of making me believe.  However the storyline was missing.  I cannot say to run out and watch this but if you have over two hours to spend watching an "okay" flick check this out.
