Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2020-08-29, I am going back to Feb 12th 1994 and checking out SMW.  I am not keeping up with what is going on as, unfortunately, life keeps me from a steady diet of wrestling so no preview here just jumping on in!

• Where did Corny find those suits?
• Candido did a hell of a piledriver!
• I cannot imagine a match with these two teams!
• Basically the Southern Version of an ECW match
• It is so basic what they did to continue the feud between the RNR and Corny

2021-02-26 Main Event

 

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you have found this entry.  I am checking out today's WWE Main Event!  I am not sure what is on the show but we will surely recap the Elimination Chamber and talk about next weeks big Raw so I think we should get to the show!

• Mansoor was pretty good on 205 earlier this year when I watched
• Hearing Matt Striker on Impact makes me not like Tom
• Remember when Drew was getting a push....I miss that 
• So far the match is okay but feels like just moves not a match
• A fine match but it is sad to see Drew in the position he is in
• Remember when Elias was seemingly going to be a big star?  
• Remember when Dave Meltzer said Ryker was going to be let go?  Strange....
• Strangely fun match with the cruiserweight keep the bigger guys on their bikes as it were
• I do love Tozawa's screams
• Two matches and two standing moonsaults, not good agents
• BUBBA SLAM!

I am not watching the review segments here but the two matches were both fine for what they were.  Honestly Drew, Elias and Ryker deserve to be on Raw not on a show no one watches.  Tozawa is great on 205 and in the 24/7 segments.  Monsoor is still learning and on 205.  It is Carillo that is the odd man out and honestly, I just do see it in him.  I do not see what he brings that the fans are going to get behind.  Overall a forgettable show.

1994-02-12 WCW Pro

 

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you found this entry. Today, 2020-08-17, I am getting in my way back machine to go to WCW Pro from the 12th of February 1994.  I have no idea what is going to be on the show so I think we should just jump right into it!

• Ah yes Flair and Vader and the bait and switch and bait again for the match
• Two very underrated guys here, Badd and Rogers
• If you do not follow Rogers on Twitter you should but it is NOT safe for work or young children!
• Both of these guys are fantastic and such great characters
• Its too bad Mero could not get a character in WWF that worked because he could have been a star I think
• Another guy that I think we looked down on back in 1994 but today would be a star.  Roma looks good and is smooth in the ring, but he was just average when he was active.  What does that say about this generation?
• Kendall is a little goofy looking
• Roma was just a generation too soon
• I always like Nasty Ned on these enhancement matches
• And Mick is Mick, how can you not like him!
• What is Payne wearing?
• Some miscommunication there between Mick and Tony....or Tony sandbagged him!
• I wonder if there are recordings of the old WCW Hotline, I would love to hear them
• 5 really strong wrestlers and Frankie who is that not bad at all!
• I do not understand how Brad was not a star at this point, just makes no sense!
• Orndorff went for a drop kick?
• Think about it, four of the six guys in this match should be in any Hall of Fame!
• Is Rude the perfect looking man to be a pro wrestler?  Tall, tan, muscular and so well proportioned.  As someone to draw a pro wrestler and it is Rude
• So weird it is Brad that is doing the selling most of the time
• I love that Terry just explained why Brad has been in the ring so much
• Look how happy Rude is in the corner!

A repeat show from Worldwide "last week" but all good matches.  WCW and SMW are the highlights of 1994 6 weeks in.  ECW and WWF (minus the Rocket King) need to step up damn it!

2021-02-23 Impact

 

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2021-02-24, I am checking out last nights Impact.  We are deep in the working relationship for Impact and AEW so I am sure that will play into things here.  I think it is time to go friend out!

• Interesting that Taya is still in the intro considering she is in NXT now.  
• Who is that horrible announcer?
• Is that Matt Striker?  
• Seriously who are there announcers?
• I think it is Striker, I am excited if it is!
• I am more interested in who the announcers are not the match and that is sad
• Something is going to get picked up by WWE in the future I believe as he seems to be a good-sized guy
• This has not been a horrible match but I am just not into it.  To be fair it is probably because I have not been following Impact closely so I do not know the story
• Uggg, they are putting in fake noise too.  It is just not overwhelming
• D-LO!  THAT IS D-LO BROWN!
• MOOSE!
• I feel like if Monty Brown was still wrestling he would be in this spot
• Scott D'Amore gets his own theme music?
• I do like the fire that Scott shows on camera
• You believe he believes
• Willie Mack is the only guy in this match that feels like a star
• Decay is still around?
• Is this Mantaur 2.0?
• So these guys are fighting to fight each other?  
• JESUS A POWERBOMB ON THE KNEE!!
• What was that by Alexander?
• I hope Willie is okay after that bad bump!
• Of course, the one guy that looks like a star is the one that takes the fall
• Wait...are they the death dealers or decay?  I am confused
• Tony Khan is SO bad
• Wow Ryan looks just like his brother and sounds like him too
• This is a HORRIBLE segment, it is sad that AEW is trying to get viewers from Impact
• I love the plugging by the Good Brothers
• Why Striker is not the lead announcer on Raw is beyond me!  The best announcer in the business now that he is back.  
• Larry and Acey can move for their size
• Well the one thing that made Larry special was his size and Doc already destroyed that with the throwaway slam
• While Acey can move he needs to lose some weight or he is in trouble in a few years
• Want to stand out in pro wrestling?  Do NOT get any tattoos
• Damn Gallows can throw a boot
• Finjuice is a HORRIBLE name
• Well XXXL can never be taken seriously after that basic squash
• This segment....that is one of the worst segments I have ever seen!
• New York titles?
• Sorry, Matt, Eddie is not in that conversation because he is in Impact
• Are they making fun of Stephen P. New?
• I wonder what is in Hernandez background that stops him from getting signed by WWE
• That is the best call, the way D-Lo is selling that apron spot
• That was really weird, Hernandez went up when Edwards was in a bad spot and then just sat there
• Jazz wears a mask now and a jail jumpsuit.  Okay
• Susan wears the jacket to wrestle?
• Stiff looking crossfaces
• I do not think ODB cares she was just kicked out
• Why did Kimber just sit there waiting for that blow?
• Susan seems like she is a step behind the rest of the girls
• Jordynne just could not get that float over after the spinebuster
• That move looks like it is an inch away from a broken neck
• That acting with Jordynne and Jazz was cringe-worthy
• I kind of like this Jake Something
• Damn it!  I hate that run into the buckles yourself as hard as you are thrown into them
• We just saw that leg trip spot in the Edwards match
• The turned up the crowd noise
• Three short clotheslines and nothing
• WHAT A HEADBUTT!!
• What a vertical by Moose
• Wait....is Moose actually selling the superplex even though he did the move?  He is my new favourite person!
• WTF?  RICH SWANN IS HERE!  SCOTT LIED!!

This was not a great show.  Not horrible but not great.  The best thing on the show was the announcing.  I love Striker.  He is over the top but I like that because he seems genuinely excited.  I also realize that there are a lot of green ladies in pro wrestling right now, which is not a bad thing but so many are rushed to TV sadly.  AEW and Impact are full of them.  Overall this is just...they need to cut this show down to 60 minutes and cut out things like the Casino segment or the backstage shit.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2021-02-14 I mean checking out today's Ohio Valley Wrestling show, #1122.  

• Way too much smiling by both people
• Said earlier?  This is the first match...
• This...um...this probably should not be on TV
• Why is Mazzerati acting like a cocky heel, I thought she was the face
• What right does Lawrence have to be at ringside?
• WTF is AJZ?
• I guess the future is not bright if that is the future of sports entertainment
• The fans are basically silent thus far which is weird
• No reactions from the crowd
• Why is it an upset?  Chico is the future of sports entertainment!
• This match is just....well like the crowd I am bored
• There is nothing bad but just no one, including me, cares
• 262?
• This segment is back?
• Ronnie Roberts getting more of a reaction than the last match
• This is going on way too long
• Why is this segment still going on?
• They are basically doing the Crash Holly gimmick
• Wow Dapper Dan has put on some bulk
• One fan cares about this match
• Did Dimes just steal from Dapper Dan on camera?
• Jessie pecs are not that spectacular 
• Are the ropes higher in this ring or are these guys just short?
• The female ref pushing the guys around is just silly
• Omar's punches look really good
• Why was the ref counting both pins?  
• Did the ref just give up?

I am not impressed with the few shows I have seen of OVW recently.   The Womens match was awful, I'm sorry but it was.  The Good Word is a poor mans Brother Love and horrible.  Dimes is not Crash Holly.  Overall it feels either recycled or just not that good.  I want to like it and I know some of these guys are still training and I respect that.  However, that does not always make a good show and thus far the shows have not been good!

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2020-08-10, I am checking out the Feb. 8th ECW TV.  I have not enjoyed ECW so far from 1994 maybe this will be the show that changes that!

• Good grief Joey, settle down about "Wrestling" returning because next, you will have someone wrapped up in barbed wire
• Wow, my copy of this show is awful! but it is 26 years old and probably from a second or third generation VCR copy
• That is how you get a guy over!
• That was an ugly ass hiptoss
• Is Austin suppose to be a 1-2-3 Kid type character?
• So weird to see Tanaka in singles action without a cat mask on
• That was a quick turn around for Patrick
• Public Enemy is just brutal in this promo
• Seriously these are the best guys they could put in this interview segment?

That was a quick show viewing wise yet nothing really to talk about minus the really bad multiple person promo segment with Matty in the House.  Another show that I just cannot get in to.  I will going and maybe it will eventually click but right now I am not feeling ECW.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening....whenever it is you have found this entry.  Today, 2021-01-31, I am checking out yesterday's Championship Wrestling show.  I enjoyed the last show I watched from them so I am willing to check it out again!

• Since the last episode, I watched I found out that Dustin and Maria are married
• His hair is still stupid
• What is this horrible music?
• Hammerstone could not even take his jacket off he is SO jacked
• Did he just say Maven?  As in Tough Enough Maven?
• Are these matches off Primetime Live?
• I really hate the Superman punch 
• I wonder how long it is before Hammerstone is in WWE, he is money with the right promotion behind him!
• The last week segments being mid-match is weird
• What a move by Hammerstone!  That is sick looking!
• A lot of Indy looking guys on that Championship Wrestling from Memphis and I mean that in the best way possible!
• I have no idea who you are kid
• To paraphrase Gorilla, I bet those tattoos seemed like a good idea one night
• Yeah, the mic is on, you do not need to tap it.  
• Allow you to introduce?
• Edgy he said shit
• So yeah it looks like these are not new run matches which is weird a bit
• Especially since they are keeping the first run commentary
• Dickerson has that crab locked in DEEP!
• Okay, Dickerson is already growing on me!
• He played football back at State?  THAT IS MY FAVORITE TEAM!
• I find it weird to think that Cruz has won any matches
• Running DVD, that looks dangerous
• Really nice interview and needed for guys like me who do not know these guys
• I will be honest that match went by too fast for me to really get into
• And a really sloppy finish
• This could be good!
• That should be the end of Mike Bennett, this match should not continue!
• Oh god yes Kamille is out!  
• Bennett looks like Eric Young with a shaved head
• Settle down Galli!
• I am kind of disappointed with this match with all the gaga
• When they were just in the ring doing their thing it was awesome!

A good show.  It is weird to see matches that might have already been broadcast but I have not watched the Primetime shows as of yet so they are new to me!  The main event I liked, as I said, when they were in the ring but the gaga before they got into ring I did not care for as much.  These two are so good they did not need it.  Listening to the ending of the show was I was typing this up they are going to show a match from NWA Shockwave next week.  Very interesting but I really like the show!
