Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever it is you have found this entry. Today we are going back to 1995, New Years day and watching some WCW action! Starrcade just happened and we saw the debut of Randy Savage in WCW. The Butcher, of all people, was in the main event of the show! Our hosts are Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene! This is going to be a recap show most likely but lets go at it!
- Love that Bobby was "Hungover"
- Interactive TV, an idea before its time!
- How many times do you think Sting fought Ric Flair? 1000? 2000?
- Here comes the Hulkster....brother!
- This is NOT fair to Flair!!
- Tony Schiavone is at his best at this point I think. 94-99. Then came Russo....
- What was the deal with Stingers hair at this point? It has to be two inches tall!
- Hogan is enjoying giving this "fan" an atomic drop!
- I love the old Flair clip of the knee
- This was the weird version of Hogan where he was leaner and just did not look right in my opinion
- HE HIT BUTCHER WITH A CHAIR IN THE FACE! DEAR LORD HE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO BUTCHERS FACE YEARS AGO!!
- Is that Brad Armstrong in the background?
- I miss Vader in the ring. Can you imagine if Vince would have really got behind him in 1996. He could have been one of the biggest stars WWF ever had!
- Dear lord how hot was Sherri!!!
- How many times did these teams fight?
- CLUBBERING!!!!! FOUR FISTES ON ONE HEAD!!!
- I could watch Sherri sneak ALL DAY LONG!
- I always hated the Nastys as good guys. Just didn't fit to have them selling and doing hot tags and such
- How amazing was the Harlem Hangover? For a man the size of Booker T to do it was a sight to see
- I always liked the tag division back in 1994-1996 with Stars and Stripes, Nastys, Heat, Pretty Wonderful, Sullivan and Cactus, Sullivan and Evad, Bagwell and Scorpio, Steiners, LOD, Sting & Luger and many others
- Watching these old shows makes me wonder who some of these guys are not in the HoF. Tenta, Vader and Sullivan to name a few. Yet Koko B. Ware and Brutus are?! Nothing against those guys but Tenta, Vader and Sullivan are as deserving and Vader and Sullivan more so in my opinion. But hey at least we get Batista this year!
- Think about it, Tenta was 42 when he passed in 2006. He could still be wrestling now! FUCK YOU CANCER!
- I know people hate 1994 WCW but I LOVE IT! Maybe it is the nostalgia it but it was fun for me
- Is Bobby Eaton the most underrated wrestler of all time?
- Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Eaton? YES PLEASE!
- Dustin is still the highlight of any show he is on 25 years later! He is the reason to turn into AEW.
- What is great is that these two can WRESTLE!
- At this point, I think it is basically a face vs. face match. Eaton was a heel with Corny and Paul E. but the rest of the time he was basically just a wrestler. Went out and did it as good as anyone ever
- Three more guys here that should be in the HoF, Eaton, Rhodes and Darsow.
- Seriously why in the hell is Demolition not in the HoF? I know they sued Vince but come on Demolition was awesome!
- Oh wait, Eaton was a heel with Regal as the Blue Bloods who I forgot to mention above in the tag teams
- Their segment when they found the OJ knife was classic!
- Dusty Rhodes and Larry Zbyszko were great announcers, throw in Gordan Soile and it shows that WCW had great talent at this time in and out of the ring
- I love that Dustin missed that punch. I do not know if it was intentional or not but I like that it looked like a fight and not a dance like so much of wrestling today
- BOBBY IS GOING TO FLY!
- SLOW COUNT NICK PATRICK!!
- Also I like that the bulldog came out of nowhere
A nice recap show with an excellent Rhodes vs. Eaton match. You have Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene as hosts who were fantastic together. Not much to talk about as it was just a recap of a few matches in 1994. Also highlighted the next big feud of Hogan and Vader. I feel like this is when WCW started to turn around and then 18 months later the nWo came and watch out!
