The Walking Dead: Season 7 Episode 3 review

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...whenever if it is you've come across this blog.  After not watching last weeks episode live I'm back for my live thoughts as they happen.  This week Daryl is taken by Negan to the Sanctuary, home of the Saviors. Meanwhile, Dwight is sent on a mission to bring back a runaway member of his group.  It'll be interesting to see what happens to Daryl and melty face.

  • I am not looking forward to a mostly Daryl episode, I just don't care for his character...sorry ladies
  • I wonder when we'll find out why Dwight has a melty face
  • Very strange choice of music....
  • Why would you want people to kneel to you?  You oppress them enough they'll rise up, why do they not learn from history
  • Is that greased up naked deaf guy from Family Guy, not 100% sure on that
  • More really weird music....
  • Gotta respect how Negan breaks a mans spirit
  • Wonder what the "A" means, work assignments?
  • Good grief, that was what 3 minutes between commercial breaks?
  • Did that dumb fat bastard forget to lock the door?
  • Wouldn't a motorcycle call every walked toward you within 5 miles?
  • Some gross looking dead there
  • Negan't can't whistle
  • Don't piss off Lucile!
  • That bike is FUCKED up, way to go melty face
  • I bet she was sent by Negan, all a set up to break Daryl.
  • And I just rolled my eyes at the line about fighting the monsters
  • Was that the human thing to do?
  • Boy that Rouge One preview sure got me excited for the flick....oh wait nope not at all
  • Smoking is bad and those would have to be stale as fuck after all those years
  • Bet that is what is left go Glenn...but I sure in the fuck couldn't tell what it was
  • It'd be really hot in that leather jacket I'd think
  • I don't know if Daryl is dumb or brave
Well there we go.  I am not a fan of this episode, mostly because I just don't care about Daryl as a character, much like last weeks episode with mostly because I don't care about Carol.  Anyway not a lot to say about this episode, I was pretty bored.  I am off to do other things with Talking Dead in the background.

The Walking Dead: Season 7 Episode 1

The Walking Dead returned today as Season 7 has begun.  Here are my thoughts as it happened boys and girls
  • Is that fresh blood?  Yeah that is fresh blood
  • Are they going to kiss?  I think they're going to kiss!  Negan and Rick...sitting in the tree...
  • WHO IS IT!
  • Rick ain't so tough!
  • This is all Ricks fault, three seasons of his bad decisions has lead the group to this point
  • I love that they are milking this.  I can feel people screaming on their couches, I know my lovely girlfriend is
  • MOTHERDICK!!!  But going out by saying "Suck...my...nuts" is the way to go out!
  • I am going to miss Abraham
  • I CALLED IT!  The way he was standing there with his back to him.  Goodbye Glenn
  • Chris Hardwick wasn't lying that we'd need therapy after this episode!
  • Can't completely blame Ricky boy for Glenn.  That one is on Daryl
  • That KFC commerical might be the worst of their commercials
  • Just when I didn't think commercials could be worse the Pizza Roll one was shown
  • How did dipshit Rick drop the axe?
  • I probably would have been snarky and said "your axe...sir"
  • Carl doesn't know what a south paw is?
  • Dotted line?
  • I LOVE NEGAN!
  • Did Rick become part dog?
  • Maggie has bigger balls then Rick
  • Why wasn't it Sasha?  I don't like her
  • Of course Carl put the stupid hat back on
Well that was interesting.  I did not expect two deaths.  I had thought they would have Maggie die to surprise us but they did not.  Abraham fell and that makes me sad.  I really liked his character but looking back at last seasons character arc it made sense.  I am sorry to see the character to fall as I love his sayings.  "Motherdick" and "Dolphin Smooth".  Plus his dynamic with Eugene was great.

Glenn however, I didn't care about.  I felt like his character had overstayed his welcome.  I felt his "death" back in the city with Nicholas would have been perfect.  They however kept him going for this death.  I understand that but I still felt his death was expected by this point.

They did an awesome job of Negan being this complete asshole yet I loved him.  He is PERFECT! Not as cool as the Governor but will end up being an excellent villain for seasons to come.

As I am typing this my lovely girlfriend is laying down on the couch with an upset stomach after the episode.  It amazes me how this show, and so many others, gets to the audience.  I am that way with Doctor Who so I understand.  It amazes me and shows how powerful this medium can be.

Well I have a kitchen to clean and the Talking Dead to watch.  Good night all!

Update:

They just showed a great recap of a few of "Glenns" greatest moments and my girlfriend is tearing up.  For the record I still get teary eye watching #10 regenerate and when Clara falls so I understand.

The Walking Dead: Always Accountable review

The Walking Dead returns this week with Always Accountable.  After being attacked by a new group and separated, Sasha and Abraham must search for an injured Daryl who may be in trouble.  We have a few more episodes before the Christmas break so I doubt we find out about Glenn.  My guess it will be before the break but that is just a guess.  I think that is still the big question, where/what is Glenn. My guess is that he is a walker at this point.  But enough of that, it is time to get to this weeks episode!

  • How does this plan work?  Why won't they just keep following the sound?
  • Wolves?
  • And Daryl falls next
  • Looks like a little bit of Road Rash there Daryl
  • Those aren't Wolves I don't think
  • Yeah the end of the world is going to suck for Diabetics
  • Interesting that Sasha is being the smart one
  • I'm worried for Abraham in this episode suddenly
  • And I just jumped a bit
  • "Loose ends make my ass itch"
  • Wolves?  Negans group?  Someone else?
  • Guess it is better then turning
  • How is ANYTHING left after all these years?
  • Shit...after this speech Abraham is doomed.
  • Wait...Abraham...Rositia...remember
  • Human nature is right
  • How did they think they weren't walkers? COME ON!
  • No good deed goes unpunished
  • Help?
Well not a whole lot happened this week did it?  Much like last week the show seems to be slowing down after a hell of a start.  I like it.  Gotta go up and down, like a rollercoaster.  Play it at an 8 then a 3 then a 7 then a 4 then a 10.

While nothing happened it once again builds toward more.  Leaves more questions then answers and that is good writing.  Excellent acting.  This show is better and better every season as the writers and then actors get a grip on the characters.

Not a lot to say really.  Overall a good episode.  Nothing outstanding, noting horrible.  Good.  That is what they needed after the start of the seasons.  Bringing us back down to a 4 or so.

The question is what is going to bring us back to that 8 or 9 before the season break?  More deaths?

The Walking Dead: Now

The Walking Dead returns this week with "Now".  As Alexandria recovers from the Wolves' attack, Maggie and Aaron set out in the search for Glenn. Meanwhile, the intimacy between Rick and Jessie grows, as the herd approaches.  Wonder if we'll get a resolution to Glenn and Rick?

  • Rick?  How'd Rick get out of the RV?  And why run back to town?  Hasn't he killed enough people?
  • Yeah Rick start yelling, that'll help matters
  • Really Aaron?  Half of them are gone but at what cost?
  • Oh no it wasn't your fault Aaron, its the world you live in now
  • Oh?  I guess you won't be buried inside the walls Rick, you're a killer
  • Spencer you destroyed that place the moment Rick and company entered
  • Yeah that wall just got a lot bigger thanks you Aaron and Rick
  • These people are crazy!
  • Is he drunk or bit?  Drunk
  • Wait...its Deanna's fault Spencer?  Maybe you have a point...
  • Oh teenagers in the Apocalypse
  • Enid is a Wolf boys, accept that
  • What is with Carl's hair?
  • Wait, the doctor is still alive?
  • Great pep talk Tara!
  • Just another walker...that went down REALLY easy...wow
  • More speeches?  GOOD GRIEF
  • Yep, a sewer sounds great.  I mean what could possibly go wrong!
  • Talking in the sewer wouldn't attract every walker down there to them...nope not at all
  • Now those are some shitty walkers
  • Wait...he is leaving Ronnie there?  I wouldn't trust him to guard a cake in a locked fridge
  • Oh good grief!  In the Apocalypse Maggie?
  • Where is Aaron's boyfriend?
  • Oh poor Sam
  • Smile you son of a bitch
  • Where is Eugene this week?  And Carol?  And everyone?
  • Well Jesse got over her husband fast
  • What the fuck was that?  Blood?
Well this episode was interesting.  Lots of character development and a bit of a let down from last weeks episode in my opinion.  But then again after the first four episodes eventually things are going to slow down a bit.  I know a lot of fans didn't like last week but I really did.  This week was quite different and a good thing.  Gotta keep lowering and then rising the intensity.  You can't have the intensity at 10 every week or there is no point.  Gotta drop it down to a 4 to ramp it back up, that is good story telling.

I want Glenn to be alive now that Maggie is with child.  I think in the preview I saw Glenn....now I'm all "is he alive?  Is he dead?".  Can you really make Maggie yet another single mother?

Okay there we go.  Next week we go back to Daryl and company and I'm interested in seeing what we find out there!

The Walking Dead: Here's not Here

The Walking Dead returns tonight with "Here's not Here".  Thus far this season has been quite the rollercoaster ride with debut of the Wolves in mass, the death of probably half of Alexandria and what appeared to be the death of one of the OG's of the show Glenn.  Tonight "Morgan must face his demons on his journey from King County to Alexandria, as the identity of his mysterious friend is revealed."  90 minutes of the walking Dead starts soon, I wonder if we'll find about Glenn's fate and Rick's fate tonight.  Enough wondering, it is time to go to the world of the dead!

  • Just turned on AMC to catch Glenn's death.  I don't see how he survived.  Even if it was Nicolas we saw getting tore apart I don't see how Glenn escaped
  • I feel sorry for Rick re-watching this.  He has lost nearly everything and he has no idea what is going on with his family
  • The head of one long undead snake...
  • The look on Rick's face...that is defeat...for the first time!
  • I wonder if we'll see Morgan's kid die tonight with his mom eating him
  • Morgan is quite scary when he wants to be.
  • He did have the gun...
  • I like the fact that Morgan couldn't kill his wife, it means he always had his humanity
  • I don't think I'd want riot gear on hunting the dead.  Cut down on your line of vision
  • Would fire draw the dead?  They hinted at it last week and with the awesome fire zombies last year.  But why?  The sound?  The light?
  • That walker was like the Ood all gross and shit
  • Oh these two are in trouble!
  • OH SHIT!  Morgan is completely gone
  • It must be hard to do scenes like this for an actor, no one to play off of
  • I don't trust that goat!
  • I wonder if this guy is real or in Morgan's head...
  • Drew Carey's brother?
  • Is that sausage?  I WANT SAUSAGE!
  • I kind of like Eastman,
  • Oh Morgan, don't do something stupid
  • What did Eastman do?  He is hiding something...
  • This Into the Badlands show looks interesting
  • Oh Morgan...
  • Aikido is pretty kick ass
  • Oh its a piece of dry wall
  • I worry about Morgan, once you learn a characters story and the fact that he has a redemption story he is in danger.  The moral characters always are in danger
  • Is Morgan going to try and save the wolf he knocked out in the house a few episodes back?
  • They always have three names
  • John Carroll Lynch is an amazing actor!
  • Wait, that wasn't sausage!  Damn it, although oatmeal burgers are pretty good if done right
  • Don't ever be sorry
  • The past always comes back Morgan
  • I do like Chicken Noodle soup!
  • Damn it, the dirty stinky goat too!  Nothing lives
  • Crighton Dallas Wilton, that was Eastman's secret!
  • 47 days...jesus!
  • 30 miles of the dead...wow
  • Goodbye Eastman, one can not be moral and survive in this Universe
  • Was that a bit?  What is wrong with that Wolf?
That was a GREAT episode!  Eastman and Morgan were fantastic.  While I didn't expect to find out about Glenn or Rick I was hoping that is why it was 90 minutes.  However this episode did not feel like 90 minutes.  Those two actors are amazing!

The storyline was perfect and the pacing was fantastic.  Starts of hot then slows down with Eastman. Eastman was the perfect character & actor to portrait the calming factor in Morgan.

The best scene was the story about Crighton Dallas Wilton.  Lynch did such a great job delivering that story.  I was sucked in so completely.

I wonder what the response will be from the fans after the first three episodes.  I loved it!  Until next time Abyssina!

The Walking Dead: JSS: A Review

Episode 2 of the Season 6 is here and it is titled JSS.  The description on IMDB kind of ruins the episode so I won't put it here but there is hope that Carl dies!  Last week Rick's "awesome" nearly got Glenn, Heath and Nick killed.  Carter did get killed.  Then a mystery horn blew and a quarry full of walkers are now headed toward Carl, Maggie, Carol and the rest of Alexandria.  My guess is baby Judith is going to pull a Kirby and suck all the bad guys in and eat them.  It is because baby Judith is FAT!  A FAT FAT BABY!  Okay enough with my obviously joking (mostly joking) ideas of what is to come, lets get to episode 2...JSS!

  • To start off on a sexist comment, did they leave all of the women back in Alexandria?  Well ladies and Carl
  • Wait, why isn't THIS flashback in black and white?
  • What is JSS?
  • How is a turtle still alive?  They should be like Unicorn!
  • Oh turtle....
  • She looks like a walker the way she is feeding
  • I don't trust Enid...
  • This is a flash back to the quarry season in Season 1 almost
  • Uggg, I hate Carol almost as much as Carl, such a bitch
  • Where is Aaron and his boyfriend in all of this?
  • Deanna is hard to look at, she is quite weathered
  • SWEET ASS GAME ROOM!  All Eugene's are practical....and a game room is practical!
  • They have a video baby monitor?  What kind of end of the world is this?
  • OH SHIT!  Smoking does get you killed!
  • DROP AND ROLL!!
  • Did she just say that is how we were able to....?  DON'T TRUST HER CARL!
  • Did they capture someone?
  • Why didn't Carol try to save her?  And how did the lookouts not see any of these people?
  • Oh that is the horn...it wasn't on purpose
  • Why isn't Aaron and company out fighting
  • MORGAN!
  • Is that Luke Harper?
  • I don't get the chopping up thing
  • How dumb are you Carl?
  • Are all teenagers morons in the Apocalypse?
  • Motherly instinct?
  • The outbreak must be pre-2001 as that lady has knitting needles on the plane (Fear the Walking Dead Flight whatever comment)
  • That is why I like Morgan, he still has humanity
  • Ugg, really?  Blood splatter on the camera?
  • Chaos due to fear
  • Is it fair to say all of this is Rick's fault with his stupid ass plan?
  • Kevin Smith on Talking Dead, yes please!  He is one of the better guests
  • Is Carol waiting for her to turn?
  • Is it that easy to stab someone through the head?
  • Aren't those Aaron's pictures?
  • Was that his backpack?
  • Story sync confirmed it was Aaron's backpack...from when they were trapped in the car.  So I guess Aaron and Rick share the blame
  • OH NO!  NO NO NO!  Morgan be careful....Oh not what I thought was going to happen
  • How did Morgan get back so quickly?
WOW!  Good grief did you see that?  That was a great episode!  One of my favorite episodes!  Once the episode started with the random killing from the Wolves it was nonstop awesome.

I don't have a lot of complaints this season. There was no lapses in logic from what the show has done in the past.  Perfect mix of action and storytelling.

I think it will be interesting to see where this goes.  I don't trust Edin at all, I think she is with the Wolves.  Carol's secret is out now...well maybe...a lot of the people are dead.  The towns people still have no idea thousands of walkers are heading their way.  They are in a lot of trouble.  I blame Rick and Aaron for ALL of this.

Wait....did Kevin Smith just tell me what JSS means?  Just Survive Somehow?  How did he know that?  Oh...the note...how did I miss that?  I failed when I missed that.  LOVE THE EPISODE!
