The FINAL Doctor?

So I was thinking about Doctor Who today...because I see there is a trailer for the new Christmas Special...which I didn't watch.  However this got me to thinking about the 50th Anniversary special.

Sorry if this is spoilers for a 3+ year old show but there will be spoilers.  So, if I remember right, at the end to save the Time Lords they call ALL of the Doctors.  All 12...NO 13!

So wouldn't this mean that this is the last doctor?  Because if there are more shouldn't there have been more Doctors showing up?

I realize that I'm probably thinking this through too much but should't there have been at least 24?

Or are they saying that this only happened because the Doctor eventually got an extra set of life from the Time Lords TRAPPED in the whatever clever plot device they thought of that week.

But if that is what was going to happen shouldn't it have already happened and affected the timeline?

So then all the next 12 should have been there right?

Yeah...I'm bored at work is that obvious?

Doctor Who: Hell Bent

Doctor Who returns today with its series finale Hell Bent.  "If you took everything from him, betrayed him, trapped him, and broke both his hearts... how far might the Doctor go? Returning to Gallifrey, the Doctor faces the Time Lords in a struggle that will take him to the end of time itself. Who is the Hybrid? And what is the Doctor's confession?"  Dear lord I don't know if I'm ready for this.  Steven Moffat has said that this episode will be a "little devastating".  When Steven says that it means BAD things...
  • I don't know if I'm ready for this....
  • Wait...was that....
  • OH SHIT!
  • Don't do this to me Moffat!  Don't you dare!
  • The barn from the 50th?  No that was just a shack wasn't it...
  • Who is she?  They?
  • A line in the sand?  Literally?
  • I wish I looked that good in a suit
  • Where is Timothy Dalton?
  • What is the Doctor up to?
  • Damn it Moffat, you can't do this shit
  • Oh the Doctor doesn't like that
  • OH SHIT!
  • Was that a weeping angel?
  • This is why the Time Lords are horrible
  • Wait....why are they taking orders....oh fuck you Moffat if I'm right
  • What did she say?
  • The Time Lord Victorious?
  • He will knock four times.....
  • Her again...I tire of her
  • He never left the disk did he?  Is he still there still trying to get the information
  • Just say it Doctor, say the words
  • Fuck you Moffat, fuck you
I am not going to say anything but FUCK YOU MOFFAT!  That is all

Doctor Who: Heaven Sent

Last week was a hard one for the Doctor.  Clara died last week and the Doctor was captured by some unknown people.  What will the Doctor find out?  Is Clara really dead (I hope not!)?  We'll find out as we watch "Heaven Sent"
  • I think I want Peter to do the voice over to my life when I die!
  • I wonder, is this like a game/test conceived by someone?  Testing to find "the one"
  • THIS IS THE DOCTOR I'VE WANTED FROM DAY ONE!!  Vengeful and angry.
  • Don't listen to Clara, not this time
  • A game of cat and mouse?
  • Are those flies or dirt?
  • Why is the doctor now running?
  • Flies
  • It is a game of some kind
  • Oh not that is messed up!
  • Is that skin?
  • Die faster?  BRILLIANT!
  • Clara?  WHAT THE FUCK!
  • Oh now this makes sense, brilliant!
  • Was that the Clara theme?  Not cool
  • They may have seen that coming actually...
  • Is he stuck in his own groundhogs day?  Doing the same thing over and over again till he gets it right?  Saves Clara?
  • The Doctor knows what this is he said right?  So he should know how to beat it unless it is death which he secretly fears most
  • The Doctor is a little like a dog or a kid.  Always touching and licking things
  • JUMP SCARE!
  • Digging your own grave Doctor?
  • I.  AM.  IN.  12?
  • I am loving this episode
  • Is he on Gallifrey?
  • This better not be River or something stupid like that!
  • It is Groundhogs day.  They are looking for something specific...where the hybrid is?
  • Why do have a tear in my eye with just that one line from Clara?
  • Too injured to regenerate?
  • Of course!
  • The TARDIS left that message?
  • Wait...why isn't that regenerating/reverting back to factory
  • Of course that is what is in that thing
  • Wait...is River the hybrid? Half Time Lord and Half Human?
Well that was really good!  Peter was brilliant in this episode.  I think maybe my favorite Doctor Who performance to be honest.

As always you can pick apart the episode.  Obviously the harder then diamond thing should NEVER break from being punched and why wouldn't that regenerate like everything else.

Also I am pretty surprised that I was correct where he ended up.  However it has been nearly 2 years since he was going "home".

However I have a feeling this will be bringing back one River Song (since we know she is back for the Christmas Special).  I am not a fan of that!  I don't think it will be the return of the Clara since she isn't a hybrid.  We know from the preview that Ashildr returns yet again but she isn't really a hybrid time lord so it has to be River right?

I have avoided spoilers so I have no idea what Christmas will be bringing the Doctor this year other then an adventure with River.

Watch this episode!  I loved it.

Doctor Who: Face the Raven

The Doctor is back in Face the Raven.  Rigsy returns this season and he has run into a bit of bad luck. A death sentence.  We see the return of "Me" aka Ashildr.  I have a bad feeling about this episode.

  • No really sure about this kid returning.  He was annoying in the shadow monster episode last week
  • We are getting closer and closer to the end of Clara's story...and that makes me sad.  I wonder if the Ood will sing her to sleep
  • The sonic glasses are growing on me
  • Was that Gallifreyan?
  • I LOVE Clara!
  • A trap street...interesting
  • Uggg, Ashildr is back?  I don't like her
  • JADOON!!
  • A Sontaran?
  • The Cyberman AND an Ood?
  • This is the Doctor's fault, he created Ashildr.
  • Ashildr's hair is AWFUL!
  • Oh no....Clara....no
  • Rigsy is kind of weird looking
  • Well that was weird
  • Oh no, she now has the key to the TARDIS!
  • No, I'm not ready.  I'm not ready for Clara to be gone
  • I like this angry Doctor!
  • No no no no no!  Sad Clara theme....NO!
  • She was suppose to be reunited with Danny!  She was suppose to end up happy with Danny somewhere.
  • Goodbye you impossible girl you.  Maybe there is going to be a call from the great governor of the Universe.  There is still a chance.
  • Don't watch Doctor!
  • She was brave...is that what the Raven wants.  "They always run" the one said.  Maybe that is the trick, there is always a trick!
  • Wait....yes....no!...Goodbye Clara
  • RAIN DOWN HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE DOCTOR!
Nothing to say here.  She is gone and I am sad.  I am sad that her story ended this way.  I know not every companion can't have a good ending but I didn't want this to be the end of her story.  Rose got her Doctor.  Martha got Mickey.  Donna got her husband.  Amy and Rory lived together till the end. Clara, she got this.

Also I hate Doctor Who because it makes me have feelings for fictional characters...of course I love the show for the same reason.  I had heard the rumors of it not being a happy ending for Clara but I had hope.  That it was a lie.  But it wasn't.  I am now sad.

This is a very sad fat man signing off.  Goodbye Clara!

Doctor Who: Sleep No More review

Good morning, afternoon or evening, whenever it is you're reading me.  Tonight the Doctor and Clara return in Sleep No More.  "Vision recovered from the wreckage of Le Verrier Space Station shows how the Doctor and Clara became entangled in a rescue mission. As the footage plays out, a horrifying secret is uncovered."  I don't know if they can follow up after the Zygon episodes but lets find out shall we!

  • The Ring vs. The Doctor?  Watch out for a creepy girl Doctor!
  • Oh no, it is more Paranormal Activity meets Doctor Who
  • Clara?  Where did Clara and the Doctor come from?
  • I love the psychic paper!  Now all we need is the return of the screwdriver
  • And the running has started.  8 minutes in...not bad
  • Those aren't Zygons that is for sure!
  • Wait...how did the pod grab Clara?
  • Is this Back to the Future suddenly?
  • I love angry Doctor!
  • They mostly come at night....mostly
  • Chopra reminds me of the kid from the Satan Pit episodes
  • Changes the fundamental chemistry?  Yeah that's not a problem I'm sure
  • Sleep dust?  Really?  Well that isn't great
  • The song?  Good grief
  • Deep sure isn't much of a singer
  • Wow those monster costumes aren't much are they?  Throwbacks to the old Doctor Who
  • Wait what just happened?  What happened to Rassmussen?  Chopra and 474?  I'm confused
  • Sleep isn't an inconvenience it is AWESOME!
  • Why haven't they taken a shot yet?
  • The Gods have NOT looked favorably upon these folks
  • Sandmen?
  • Are they all in the Pods?  OH MY GOD THEY ARE!  Is this the Christmas episode all over again?
  • They can't see?  But they found Rassmussen easily didn't they?
  • So this is how they write Clara off the show.  Clara the Sandman
  • If they aren't in the Pods is Rassmussen the next evolution of the Sandmen?
  • I'm back to my theory that they are in the pods
  • And I'm once again wrong
Wait...I'm confused!  So did the video get out?  Do we all die in the 38 Century?  Or did the Doctor get down and destroy all the pods before hand?

Well that was a weird episode?  I feel like it was right there in being a good episode but was missing something.  Oh right a coherent plot!  I'm disappointed in Mark Gatiss, the writer, as he is next in line most say to be the next show runner.  But looking back I'm not a fan of most of his episodes.

I didn't like the acting, the random "facts" but not explaining anything that Doctor Who is famous for but good grief there were several in this once.  The plot didn't quite make sense and I feel like they didn't have a proper ending so just left it with this vague bullshit.

After two excellent episodes this was a let down.  But there is always next week right?  Until next time....RUN!

Doctor Who returns in The Zygon Invasion

The Doctor returns this week in the Zygon Invasion.  "The fragile peace between the Humans and the Zygons is on a knife edge. Tensions run high as factions within the Zygon community seek to incite violent action against Humans. Called in by UNIT, the Doctor and Clara fight to bring he situation under control. But one question remains: Where on Earth is Osgood?"  I am not looking forward to this episode because I don't really care about the Osgood character (sorry Ingrid Oliver, you are a wonderful actress on the show!).  However it is the Doctor and Clara in the TARDIS so enough jibber jabber and lets go fight off some suction cup monsters on Halloween!

  • Nice flash back to remind people
  • I wonder if we'll find out which Osgood died....and I think we just did...maybe
  • Wait...they can shoot electricity now?
  • Oh Doctor....
  • I like the Clara theme!
  • I don't trust that kid at all!  I bet he is quite...blobby
  • That makes sense, I never trusted the Brits!
  • I think the Doctor does want to be alone with it!
  • I already like this storyline
  • Truth or Consequences is a town and the home of one Cactus Jack
  • Are you sure Kate isn't American what with her love of bombing things
  • Well that is just gross!  Like Ghostbusters 2 slime
  • I want to be President of the World!  It is like a dream come true
  • No British AND no Dogs...tough town
  • Do these people not watch horror movies?  NEVER SAY HELLO!
  • This is good!
  • Always re-writing the rules
  • This episode seems long in a good way.  Lots of stuff has happened
  • Oh good grief...it is a giant set up!  Doctor....how could you fall for this!
  • OH SHIT!
  • The Doctor is going to be PISSED!
  • Oh Kate....
  • Oh Doctor....
Well that is it.  The end of Doctor Who, I don't think he can regenerate from being blown up.  He isn't Wolverine and shit!

Well I liked this episode...A LOT!  Between the performances, which were awesome.  Evil Clara was perfect.  The reveal was perfect and I am disappointed in myself that I didn't see it coming.  The storyline of the Zygons wanting to take over the world is great.

I liked the horror aspect of it as well.  I don't have a lot to say other then it was a really good episode and I want to see next weeks episode badly!

Doctor Who: The Woman Who Lived

We're back, sorry I've been a little more quiet than usual this week.  Work got in the way along with a cold that won't give up.  Anyway its time for "The Woman Who Lived".  Ashildr is back.  In England, 1651. A deadly highwayman known only as 'The Nightmare' plagues the dark streets of London, his fire-breathing accomplice by his side. There's something clearly more than human here, and that includes the loot as much as the outlaws. Who are these creatures, and are they enemies to be fought, or friends who might possibly save the Doctor from certain doom on the gallows?

  • Fake voice?
  • Really?  Screaming because of a little eye shine?
  • Fish in the Night?
  • Where is Clara?  Taking Taekwondo?
  • Why doesn't she know her name?  Oh I see
  • Is that a PKE meter?  Egon would be proud
  • She cured Scarlet Fever?  Scarlet Fever sucks...I know
  • Incredible clever?  Sounds a bit like Clara
  • What did you do Doctor?
  • She is evil?  Oh the Doctor will be so very sad
  • Everyone wears masks Doctor, everyone
  • How does she know these things?
  • Was that a Thundercat?
  • Oh good grief, the sonic glasses still?
  • Even back then guys has to sleep on the couch?
  • He's lost too many "Me"
  • "No not the puns.  Line in the sand.  No puns." -The Doctor
  • Wouldn't be good?  Really Doctor?  That is your reason?
  • Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder cats HO!
  • Is that the Beast from Beauty and the Beast?  Ron Perlman is that you?
  • The Doctor does make weapons and bad guys everywhere he goes doesn't he?
  • Is she going to open the Oblivion Gates?
  • So she isn't immortal?  I'm confused
  • Wait, the Doctor is wanted...again?
  • 20 pounds?  THEY'LL BE RICH!
  • See, puns are going to get you killed Doctor
  • Uggg, really?  Goodbye Thundercat
  • CAPTAIN JACK!!
I wonder if Ashildr will be back.  An interesting episode for sure.  Obviously setting up things to come with the Doctor and Clara.  I like this Doctor I really do.  He is different then 9 - 12 but you see glimpses of each in him.  I also like that they have him keeping doing little call back to other version of himself with a phrase here or a look there.  I felt like in modern Who they forgot the past when a new Doctor came along.  This time they seem to be calling back to all the Doctors from the past.

This episode in vacuum was not that great.  When looked at from the series story arc I think we'll find it much better.  When I say "this episode" I mean last weeks and this week.  It is really one 90 minute episode.  The only time I'd go back and watch these episodes would be if I was rewatching the season.

I'm going to hold complete judgment for the when the season (or half way point because I think this storyline will conclude prior to Christmas or with the Christmas episode).  However I want to say three things.

1.  The Doctor is correct about puns
2.  The Doctor is wrong about banter
3.  The Doctor needs to get rid of the sunglasses!

Until next time...Abyssinia!!

Doctor Who: Before the Flood: A Review

Its time to go

  • And I am doing what The Doctor told me, googling the Bootstrap Paradox
  • I feel like there is a lot of Bootstrap Paradox issues in Doctor Who
  • Is his guitar sonic like his glasses do you think?
  • Do you think O'Donnell is the next companion?  I kind of like her
  • Was that an Auton?
  • The ghost effect is pretty cool
  • Who knew facetime was so important
  • Again, I wonder if O'Donnell is the next companion, I like her!
  • No I don't think it was an Auton, just dummies, but I don't trust dummies anymore.  Thank you Doctor Who!
  • Really?  Well that sucks.
  • I think Bennett should have punched the Doctor
  • That damn bell again?  That bell does nothing good
  • Why haven't we figured out why the Doctor looks like the guy from the Fires of Pompeii
  • I like these soldiers, they are honest and say what they want
  • Oh no, its not just the ghosts you have to fear Lunn
  • Awesome voice for the Fisher King!
  • Is she part bat?
  • The Fisher King is pretty bad ass looking
Hmmm, I'm not sure what to think of this episode.  I am very disappointed that O'Donnell died.  I really liked her character, more than the fan favorite Osgood.  I do like that the Doctor used the rules to his advantage.  I am also liking the Clara and Doctor dynamic more and more.  Overall I enjoyed the episode but not as much as the first half.  I am not sure about next weeks episode but I'll be checking it out!

Doctor Who: Under the Lake: A Review

Time for Episode 3 of Season 9 of Doctor Who.  This time we go Under the Lake.  Ghosts?  Water? Running?  Sounds like a lot of fun to me!  Lets go.....Under the Lake!
  • Mysterious vehicle?  Never a good thing
  • The mute girl will be important I'm sure
  • They need to be careful about reusing actors from the past and Torchwood, its weird
  • AI will kill us all!  Just like Stephen Hawking said
  • This already feels like a 42, which I loved.  BURN WITH ME!
  • If Charles Dickens shows up I am done boys and girls
  • Are Clara and the TARDIS still fighting?
  • Is Clara trying to replace Danny with danger?
  • I like Capt. Moran as an actor
  • No interested in Clara?  Are they blind...oh right....
  • Why is the Doctor wearing a wedding ring?
  • Oh the running...I missed the running
  • Oh good grief, its always about oil!
  • Faraday cage?  Interesting
  • I love this Doctor!
  • How did they miss that?  Humans, never paying attention
  • badgers?  We don't need any stinking badgers!
  • I need someone to make me cards like that.  Honestly I need a carer like Clara
  • I love how quickly this show goes by!
  • Night mode?  That is a bad thing right?
  • The Cloister Bell is NEVER a good thing....never
  • Is the Doctor starting to see "Doctor Clara"?
  • How cute is Jenna Coleman?  The correct answer is a lot!
  • Yeah, not Bennett sunshine
  • I wish I could read lips right now....like the deaf girl!
  • Then there were 3....
  • That isn't the correct type of chair to attack someone with!  It's gotta be a folding chair
  • Who are you going to call?
  • Cabin in the Woods reference?  Big fan of the writer Toby Whithouse
  • He also did The God Complex which was excellent and School Reunion
  • This also feels a little like the Impossible Planet which I also loved
  • Hey?  Hey ghosts?  That worked?
  • Are they trying to find peace?
  • The sunglasses again?  Not a fan!
  • Ah yes, the Doctor figured it out, just like me.  I CAN BE THE NEXT DOCTOR!
  • Invasion?  Distress call?
  • Clever by osmosis?  Does that work?
  • Of course the Bennett person speaks reason....and then doesn't follow reason.
  • I often threaten to come back and haunt people....Toby must know some real Bennetts!
  • Damn dead locks!
  • I kind of want a clockwork squirrel
  • Wait?  What?!?!
  • A two parter?  FUCK YOU TOBY!!
Really?  Another two parter?  Damn it!  I hate waiting.  This is why I hate watching TV in "real time" and not binge watching.  I will say that I loved this episode and everyone in it.  This season has really restored my love for the show.  Everything about it has been great.  Go watch it boys and girls, love Doctor Who again.  No giant overreaching storylines that don't make sense (well so far).  Just good writing and great acting which we had years ago.  Enjoy boys and girls and until next time...remember....run!

Review of Doctor Who: The Witch's Familiar

Two blogs today because it is Doctor Who Day!  We see the second part of a two part season debut. Last week we saw the return of Devros after a 5+ year absence.  Missy returned, yeah I know shocker, and turned on the Doctor, yeah I know also a shocker, only to be "killed" by the Dalek. Clara also found herself EXTERMINATED.  We saw that the Doctor might be the reason the Dalek exist as he failed to save Devros as a child.  How will the Doctor respond to Devros and the Dalek killing Clara and Missy?  Enough questions lets watch The Witch's Familiar!
  • And that pretty much ruined everything from the last episode, way to go writers.
  • Still don't like Missy
  • How much fun is Peter having in that scene?  I would have fun driving that thing
  • Well that is the things of nightmares!
  • I wonder if they could make Missy anymore over the top
  • Is kid Devros from the Game of Throne world?
  • #4 had the same choice
  • It is like a cancer Devros, I'd remove it if I could from me
  • Not the first time she has been a Dalek....is she going to ask for eggs?
  • Why did he leave?
  • Did Missy fight the Supreme Dalek or the Master?
  • Are they making me care about Devros?  Compassion truly is a cancer
  • Oh the question...the same question that the Doctor asked.  The question we all ask of ourselves at least once in our lives
  • Oh that is good!
  • This episode is flying by
  • Did they have to pay Google for this idea?
  • Oh Devros...what have you done!
So spoilers will follow so you've been warned

So I am confused by all this.  First off LOVED IT!  However I am confused by a few things.  Why did the Dalek have compassion/mercy suddenly?  Was it from merging with the Doctor or because of what the Doctor did?  I mean the creation of the Dalek should be "time locked' shouldn't it?  How can the Doctor effect any of it.  So much of the history of the Universe is tied to them.  So what the Doctor did always happened right?  This is the one thing about Doctor Who that makes it difficult sometimes.  What came first, the mercy or the act to give Devros mercy.  I am of the firm belief that the creation of the Dalek and Devros past has to be time locked (or anything of major consequence).  So this is what ALWAYS happened.  When you throw in that Clara is involved (she also is time locked with the Doctor I believe since she entered his time stream....or did we forget that already). That isn't it say the episode was perfect.  I really didn't like Missy.  I don't like the character at all.  She was okay last season but four episodes of her reminds me of River Song.  In small doses okay but once you start seeing her more and more often she loses her special factor.  We didn't see Master in episode after episode before and that is why he was special.  Its like the old saying, we can't miss you if you don't leave!

I am interested in seeing where things go from here.  I miss grumpy Doctor but I think they realized the majority of people didn't like him as much as I did.  I connected with grumpy Doctor...perhaps they need a grumpy bearded American companion for next season....I am looking for something new in my life BBC, being on a worldwide TV sensation would be a change.  Just throwing it out there BBC, let me know, I can clear my schedule!

Okay enough of my ramblings.  I'll return tomorrow for Fear the Walking Dead for sure if not more! As always please click HERE for my Amazon store, the holidays are coming up.  Please us my store to make your Amazon purchases.  You don't pay more but I get a bit of a kick back.  If you want to see me review a movie let me know in in the comments.  If you have books you'd like to me to read let me know, I'm always in the mood for a good book.  I'm reading a good zombie book whose title escapes me right now each day at lunch.

Until next time...remember "I'm not sure any of it matters, friends, enemies, so long as theres mercy...always mercy".  As always....Abyssinia!

Doctor Who: The Magician's Apprentice....my thoughts

He is back, the Doctor returned today.  Below are my thoughts as I watched this weeks episode.
  • I think you're going to need something a little more then your bow and arrow against that plane but I could be wrong
  • Did I get the wrong show?  I think this is Tremors 17
  • Was that an eye in that hand?  CREEPY!
  • Bookshop, war, having worked in a bookshop sometimes they are the same thing
  • Your name is what?  Well that was unexpected.  I'm sorry but your expected survival is no 0 out of 1000, sorry about that.  But well we all know the Doctor won't say that!
  • A headless monk....nope
  • IS THAT A JUDOON?!  YES!  I LOVE THE JUDOON!
  • There is never one last time when it comes to bad guys & Doctor Who
  • Why can we see Clara's breath?
  • Sadly we already know she isn't dead, which basically ruined that whole segment.  THANKS A LOT INTERNET!
  • Gross, pigeons
  • You're his friend?  Really?
  • Wait....is this the same Missy as the one that made out with the Doctor....and brought the Doctor and Clara together?
  • Clara still has her Vortex Manipulator?
  • I knew the guy in Fury Road looked familiar!  IT WAS THE DOCTOR!  He looked good in long red underwear
  • The Doctor has changed....I don't like it
  • Never trust a hug....
  • I really don't like Missy
  • Well that was unsettling
  • Now that is the Doctor I like
  • Did Missy suddenly change her accent permanently?
  • Is Clara the Master/Mistress and not know it?
  • Wait...the Doctor did that?  Exactly what I would have done....oh Doctor....what did you do?
  • So far this episode is all over the place and confuses me...which is a good thing
  • I miss John Simm
  • Yes #4 I could....I'd like to think....but probably not
  • Uggg, the Power Rangers are back.  Boo!
  • Yeah, that probably happened, all those that believe it stand on your head
  • Clara is going to be making souffle soon
Well....that was interesting.  I hate multiple part episodes because now I have to wait till next week. Now unfortunately we know that Clara is going away but we also know that at some point in her timeline she is a Dalek...or some version of Clara is.  We also know that Missy didn't/doesn't die.  We see during the "next week" part that the Doctor goes back and is going to try and save Devros.  But obviously they can't stop the Daleks from happening because that would change everything including time locked things like the Time War.  I also realize I'm putting way too much thought into this! Overall I enjoyed the episode but I'm going to reserve complete judgment until I get the complete story.

Doctor Who

I just finished watching the 5th series of Doctor Who, the first starring Matt Smith. I've got to say...I am not happy. Nope, not happy at all. Matt Smith is playing the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillan) plays the new companion. You also have Rory (played Arthur Darvill) and the returning River Song from the end of season 4. I really didn't like any of them.

Matt plays a strange version of the 10th doctor in my opinion. The rambling is the biggest thing. He is actually quite annoying most of the time.

Amy Pond is cute but again seems to be a weird mixed of the last companions. I feel like the mixed Rose and Donna together and out popped Pond.

Rory...well I kind of like Rory. But again he is just a weird version of Mickey. I much cooler version, but still I had a weird, been here done that feeling with the Rory/Doctor/Amy triangle.

Then you have River. I...um...I don't know what to think about River. She is an interesting plot device. As she's made more appearances I've become more interested in her. I am looking forward to the continued storyline.

The other big thing about this season was the departure of Russell T. Davies as the head writer and Steven Moffat taking that over. Now let me be clear I don't know either man's body of work other than Doctor Who. It didn't take much for me to get into the show with Davies or when they went from the 9th to the 10th Doctor.

With the 11th Doctor I just didn't feel it. The stories were missing something. The writing just wasn't at the same level. Maybe it is because Moffat was new. Maybe because Smith isn't at the same level of Eccleston or Tennant. I don't want it to sound like I am completely destroying the show. It was still entertaining. The weeping angels returned which was cool.

Overall I'm disappointed with the season and with #11. Hopefully next seasons picks up where the End of Time left off...although the absence of the Ood was a good thing...they are really creepy. Oh but the lack of Capt. Jack was NOT cool.

The Waters of Mars

I just watched the final episode of Doctor Who with David Tennant as the doctor. Well not exactly as I missed an episode and it might have been the best of his run. I don't want to ruin much but in it the Doctor does something that I wanted to see him do and we see what happens when he does it.

I always thought that Tennant was missing a certain something that I wanted to see in the doctor and he shows it in this episode, god does he ever. We had seen flashes of it. We see it briefly in the Runaway Bride. However we see the whole thing here.

I've said it before but it is one of the best written shows on TV. But its not just that. The acting everything is fantastic. You can almost believe Tennant when he is on the screen. He was able to suck me in and make me believe, which is something I want.

As much as I hate it the show makes you care about these characters. The last line Tennant says as the doctor is "I don't want to go". I think every fan said the same thing. I haven't brought myself to watching Season 5 yet. I don't like the look of Matt Smith. I've heard he is a mix of Doctor's 9 and 10. If so its what I've wanted since Tennant took over. Tomorrow probably as I've got the day off.

To the writers of Season 1-4, thank you. Christoper and David thank you. If you enjoy science fiction then watch this show. More importantly if you like well written TV with character development, plot and something that will make you think yet entertain then watch this show.

Until next time....abyssinia!
